The players let the manager and the club down. Showed no heart at all. A real embarrassment to the club. Stur Marshall played well and they worked hard for the win cause they wanted it more

I have to say we were unlucky, we let in two fluky goals which was a shame, and we did have two or three new players in as well. So the team didnt gel as well as they usually do, but im sure once they train altogether they will be back to winning wayz. And for a young side i believe we have alot of quality, and that will shine throughout the season. Dont judge them on just this one poor performance. KJ knowz what hes doing and im sure that was a minor.

Look at the league . Ninth out of fourteen teams with only ten points from a possible twenty four. The league does not lie, they are not good enough at this level, and will need to improve if they are to back up the first team.

i don't believe we can blame the performance entirely on the players, some shocking tactical decisions were made by KJ, this shows that KJ seriously missed the assistance of Martin Dobbs by his side, many players were played out of position and 3 new players were started without even going to a single training session and it seem like KJ is treating each game like a friendly.

I believe Anon makes a vaild point, but you must also consider the fact that YES it is important to win games and the league, but it is just as important to allow young players grow and gain experience. And when they are at the top of their game you will know it.

To say two of the goals were fluky is a strange one as from where is was standing i must of missed that! We were outplayed by a team who wanted to win the game more quite simply. We werent organised and were found out by a very good sturminster marshall team who will be near the top at the end of the season if they continue in the manner in which they did saturday.

Cant really believe all the negative comments Im reading, I hope all the youngsters dont come on here, read this and get downhearted.
It may have been a bad day on Saturday but these are very young players and will learn from it and improve. Having the reserves is one of the most important things the club has done and KJ had done a fantastic job so far.
Just look at the amount of players in the 1st team squad at the moment - Chivers, Bayston, Sturgess, Harris, Mitchener.
These talented young players need our support, keep up the good work KJ and all the lads. Keep playing football the right way and the results will come.

Correction KJ
You think you know who this is.
No disrespect to you KJ but when you start players who have never been training over players who go training everyweek but haven't had a chance yet then there are questions to be asked.

I guess this being an open forum allows anyone or everyone to have a opinion and because that opinion is personal is neither right or wrong? It's interesting to read some of the banter that appears on this site, some light hearted some personal, what does surprise me is that for so many obviously opinionated and passionate supporters not many people make themselves known, surely if you feel the need to voice an opinion you would like to be recognized? I've known Kevin for nearly 30 years, played football with him and for him at many levels, he is human and will and does make mistakes, I could list Kevin's achievements in football I've got a loft full of trophies as recognition of this but how many of you have tried Managing a football side? It's just a few hours on a Saturday after all isn't it? ..... well actually it's not! Poole Town are growing, Kevin sees his role to nurture and develop players for the First Team, this historically has been one of Kevin's qualities. I spent from Wednesday until Sunday morning visiting Kevin and his family and that couple of hours on a Saturday afternoon Managing a side was more like several hours every day/evening, in fact right up until about an hour before kick off he was having players drop out, not easy then to get the right side every time. With reference to the criticism Kevin has received following the Reserve game on Saturday, rather than just voice and opinion, why not suggest the side you would have played, you have the advantage of knowing who was available because they were there, I would be interested to see who you would have played and left out. Kevin can then consider your views and act on what he feels will benefit the club. The problem with developing young players is you have overbearing parents who want the best for 'billy and johnny' unfortunately as with parenting you too can and will be wrong.
Kevin's heart is in Poole Town, how about talking to him rather than criticising, I've known him for along time and not once has he ever made a mistake intentionally. Kevin has a lot of very technically talented youngsters who are also very naive in football brains, he tries to find the balance, difficult to coach and mentor footballing brains without training facilities, of course he would have preferred to look at the three new players on the training ground but unfortunately you don't have the facilities.
Feedback given constructively gives the recipient a choice whether or not they wish to react, but cosmic judgment (your type of criticism) is not at all constructive to Poole Town. I'm happy to discuss this with you and my opinion next time I'm down visiting, I'm the guy who did the bucket Wednesday night and ran the line on Saturday for your club.
Regards
Steve

I think Steve makes a very good point, on behalf of the players we would like to thank you very much from tha bottom of hearts from your assistance an aiding in the chippenham game to last saturday. I dont believe KJ made a 'mistake' in the team on saturday, a manager wants to see a different view on things and may want to rotate about in order to produce the best for poole!
THANKS KEV YOUR DOING A GREAT GREAT JOB, KEEP IT UP!! ALL THE BEST!!! ;D

Just to clarify my previous post, I think you've taken the word 'mistake' totally out of context, I don't believe Kevin made a mistake Saturday......... well actually he did make one, he fell asleep with a glass of whiskey in his hand and spilt it down his leg ........ Toby!!!

We can't put the blame on KJ, he has done alot for this club. It was just a bad performance, one week off! Sure KJ started 3 new players but e as his reasons and he is the manager. I just hope this result doesn't get to the lads, Good luck next week boys!

I would like to thank the true PTFC supporters, for their words of confidence, i thought about calling it a day, but why should i, I started this journey with PTFC and i have enjoyed it more than any other football job.
I have had chances to move on which Chris is aware of i have always been upfront when i have been approached by other clubs, but i am happy with PTFC and i will not give in to small minded people who have alternative motives for their comments.
Just to confirm Thursday night before the game i had no strikers and i had many players which i will list below unavailable.
I called one of my contacts and told him i need two strikers, he came back and said he had spoken to two players aged 17, who wanted to play for me, both had made appearances for Wessex 1 teams last season, so i rang them and told them they were playing saturday for me, i explained i had a fairly unbalanced and young side for this game.
I explained my job is to get you ready for first team football.
I then signed a further player which had been recommended to me by another contact, he recommended a lad that had broken into the first team in the Wessex 1 at the end last season and made six appearances he also is aged 17, he wanted to play for me and PTFC.
As it should be TK gave me two strikers friday, as far i am concerned they take priority, so i had to explain to the players just signed that they will be playing out of position, they accepted.
In fact they coped well.
Finally i have listed below players not available for this game for various reasons.
Work Mark Thomas Mark Wells Chris Snell Harry Denney
Holiday/unavailable Sam Dobbs Alvin Gunputh Simon Thingybob
Injured Aaron Jackson sub Paul Maynard Paul Nisbit sub Scott Hancox Shane Duggan Shaun Bryan Tom Holloway
Ist Team Dave Sturgess Paul Bayston Keith Tottingham Lee Mitchenor
With so many player missing it is difficult, especially when players become not available right up to 12 o'clock on the day of the match.
This will be the last time i will respond to any comments which are out of order i hope my players do not take in comments made by Mr anon.
Once again to the true PFC thank you for your support.
KJ

I've only ever posted 1 other comment on this forum, and as I did then - and will do whenever I make a post - I'm putting my name to it. I'm only responding now as a couple of posts indicate that Kev and Steve Kirk think 'anon' is a parent. I was one of only a handful of parents at the Stur game, and I don't think any of us would use this as a forum for voicing our opinions. We would speak to Kev - as I did during the game. He knows that whether I agree with the decisions he makes or not, he's the Manager and he has my support. Both my lads have played for him - with very good reason. Worried in case he thought I was 'anon', I spoke to him, and told him quite categorically that I am not. Frankly, I think he, and everyone else, should have treated the comment with the contempt it deserved.
