Poole Town FC are delighted to announce the launch of the Arthur Robbins Club. Arthur was one of the saviours of the club back in 1991 and did so much for the club until he passed away in 2004. Poole Town Football Club was very dear to my fathers heart and he would be extremely proud to have his name associated with a sporting organisation which gives so much enjoyment to both adults and children in the Borough. Since 1991, when we purchased an ailing Club from the Official Receiver, Arthur threw his not inconsiderable weight behind establishing a revitalised set up, free from debt and trading solvently. By its very nature any football club relies, not just on its performances on the field, but on the ability of its Officers to raise the sizeable annual revenue stream required. Arthur, as our Financial Director, never let us lose sight of the need to be prudent with our resources and it is to my lasting regret that he did not live long enough to see the fruits of his labour turn into successive promotions and a rise up the Non League pyramid. Considering all the obstacles we had to contend with over the years he would have considered it a job well done. He made many lasting friendships as a result of his involvement with Poole Town F.C. and I’m sure that those who knew him will remember him fondly. Please support us as your finances permit and may I thank you, in advance, for possibly becoming a member of the ‘Arthur Robbins Club’. Another great opportunity to support the club and a geat tribute to a great man! Just to make you aware we did discuss this at the last committee meeting and the 100 club will still be run alongside this, unless it becomes financially unviable to do so, however we will share this with the members if it does
