So on the coach home yesterday, Pippa tried to persuade me to go to the U18s game today With gale force winds forecast, i turned down the offer. This morning I woke up to clear skies and a balmy breeze, 14° I needed some gear for my planned fishing trip tomorrow so thought I'd kill 2 birds with one stone. Got to the tackle shop near Cerne Abbas and it was still tropical. So we arrive at Milborne port, 5 miles further on and the forecasters were spot on. I've heard of scudding clouds but these buggers are taking part in a Grand Prix to the coast. Anyway, the footie. Any chance of decent football was like Scarlet O'Hara, gone with the wind. What has been played has been all us but sods law, after being camped in their half to no avail, they get their first breakout and score. 1 down at half time. Dunno what Danny told them at half time but they've come out fighting in this half and soon scored through Charlie Mullins.

Forgot to mention that a mug of tea and a cake cost just a quid. What could be better? Oh yes, the weather...... and it's getting worse.

Bugger. They've just scored again so it's all to play for now.

Now 3-1. Superb strike but poor defending let him in for the shot.

Just to add to our woes, it's started raining. Time for another cuppa.

All over. Who's bloody silly idea was that? If the weather doesn't buck up, the maggots will be redundant tomorrow

Thanks Wilf. Always a pleasure to watch the youngsters but today's weather did stretch the meaning of 'pleasure' to new extremes. Very difficult for the lads to play their type of flowing football on a pitch that had more lumps and bumps than a spotty kid's chin. Couple that with a tornado and you get a very different game of football. They'll have better days and hopefully, so will I.

If your team, Wimborne, played the Cherries on a ploughed field, they'd have a much better chance of a result than playing at King's park. The weather and pitch were atrocious for both sides but suited the home team much more as they didn't look to be particularly gifted footballers and grafted their way to a result.

Nope. I never get your point. I just don't understand why a Wimborne supporter comes on our forum other than to stir things up.

Support usually means watching games and making a fair share of positive posts neither of which apply to you it seems. Virtually every post of yours is bitter and negative and you're never seen at home games. As a forum member who doesn't hide behind a handle, I'm entitled to make any comment I like Get over yourself.
