Would it be possible to confirm the plans for the reserve team this season? Despite the fact that it has not been withough difficulties last season, I still believe that the introduction of a reserve team for Poole Town was absolutely critical and a necessity to keep hold of young and progressing players and also providing competitive games for squad members.
Can you please advise if the reserve team will continue, and is it correct that Ian Mcleod is now the new boss, having joined from Hamworthy Under 18's. ?

In reply to Dolphin and all, yes it is true, my name is Ian Mcleod and I have been appointed as the Reserve Team Manager. I very much look forward to working with Tommy and meeting all the people at the club. I,like you, and many other people believe that a strong reserve side is crucial to a Wessex League Club to enable to keep a large pool of talent in which we can develop the young and able players who will in turn progress into the successful 1st team. Also, as we will be playing in the Wessex Combination Div. One, it provides a good standard of competitive football for, not just progressing players but ,1st team squad players to keep their sharpness or come back from injury / suspension.
Club training commences at 7.00pm at the ground on Thursday 6th July and I look forward to meeting the existing players and welcome any new players who are keen to join Poole Town F.C. for Wessex League football. Regards Ian Mcleod

Best of luck Ian, I am sure that all the supporters will give you their support. Here's to a good season, look forward to coming along to support when I can.
Also pleased to hear about the change of league, I think this may suit our reserve team far better. Really hope to see more players come through the reserves and into the 1st team.

Hi Ian,
How has training gone so far for the reserve team? Just out of interest, have we managed to keep any of last years squad as a lot of them were rumoured to be going with KJ, and have you managed to bring any new players in?
Also, do you have any friendlies scheduled, Im sure you will get a bit of support if they dont clash with the 1st team.

Hi Dolphin, I'm sorry I've not replied earlier but I will do my best to post here on a regular basis to keep you all up to date with the Reserve team throughout the season. In answer to your post, so far the training is as "club" sessions and is going well. At this stage I do not want to put names up on the board as it were, because it is still early and our initial fixtures will be in some way "trial" matches however there are indeed players from last years squad and some new faces. As for friendlies, the reserve team matches confirmed so far are
Tuesday 18th July Away v Holt United 7.00pm ko Wednesday 2nd August Away v Swanage Town ko TBA Thursday 10th August Away v Hamworthy Rec. ko TBA As more details are confirmed I will post on here. If you manage to get to any of our games it would be appreciated , come and say hello and I will be able to put a face to a fan. Regards Ian Mcleod

Cheers Ian.
I thought it was a good start against Holt on Tuesday, always a difficult team to play but was very impressed with some of the young players, and look forward to seeing them progress during the season.
