I'm afraid it's true Tom and I have worked very hard to prevent it but it seems his friendship with James Wood was just too big a pull.We will move on however - talks are ongoing with three top class strikers at least two of whom I would be hopeful of signing Steve Strong is of course already in the bag as it were.We will be fine don't worrry!!!!

This is great news that we have Karim back next season. The risk level might be high but that will be more than matched by the entertainment level.

Just back from a few days away and greeted with the news from Chris above re Karim!
That's fantastic - really delighted about that. For all the 'other' things that Karim brings (and we'll have to see how is disciplinary works out!!) he was a superb player for Poole over the course of two seasons. 70 goals in 60 games sums up the talent he has - and don't forget, Karim also had more assists in those two seasons than any other player (by quite a bit too) so he's not just about scoring goals.
I said 2 years ago that he was worth the entrance money alone, such was his dazzling skills and lethal finishing. Anyone who watched his single handed demolition of Ringwood in the away league game nearly 3 years ago (Karim got 4) will want to see more of the same.
He was always a firm favourite with the Poole fans and despite Hamworthy and Poppies failing to get the best from him, I have no doubt that Tommy and co will handle him well.
Great to have you back Karim - now let's see you pass the 100 goal tally of Leigh Phillips for the club!!
Cheers,
Steve

Ithink you will find that Gosport and Hamworthy have failed in their efforts to get Gary and Taffy. We have no plans to sign Moores

Hi Chris,
Thanks very much for keeping us all updated, as usual a lot of rubbish goes around at this time of year usually started by supporters of other teams.
Please keep us informed, in some ways this can be the most exciting time of the season, waiting to see who stays and who comes in. Is there any more news about new signings? Delighted to read in the local press that the Smith brothers have signed from Lymington.
Any chance of a run down of who has signed so far? Would be delighted to know that we have kept hold of some of our young stars like Hogan, Whitley and Chivers.
Thanks.

Chris,in regards to the keeper position ,are we looking at getting experienced cover for Spills, because,& no disrespect to Mitch & Ryan, or Spills for that matter,i think akeeper with a few years under his belt would come in very handy,as Spills cant seem to shake off the injuries like he used to ! Before anyone starts criticising ,i thought that after xmas Spills was superb, but when he didn't play............!

I hear that Leigh Mitchener has joined KJ at Bournemouth sports, so surely the club will now need to bring in another keeper as competition for Spills. How about Bournemouth Sports keeper from last season, Rocco Bacchini who has played for Poole, or Max Frampton who undoubtedly is on of the best keepers in the Wessex and surely needs a club where he can now settle after not playing much last season.

Ihave spoken to Leigh and he is not going anywhere .His ambition is to be no.1 at Poole so no need for concern on that front

Great news!! I rate Leigh very highly, real potential there to be a top wessex keeper, that save away at Fareham was right out of the top drawer. Definately hope we keep him at Poole Town, and stick by him whilst he gains experience.

There are two transfer issues going on at the moment - for obvious reasons I can't say anymore Tom is away until Thursday when pre-season training starts.I am in touch with him but probably no news until next week.

Going back to the keeper issue, with the news that Spillane has now gone to Poppies, who will be the Dolphin's number 1 this season?

It's got to be said! Well done all concerned for the signing of 'Slapzie Maxie' no disrespect to Spills but Mr.Frampton is a proper keeper and a great signing for the Town. Good luck to Spills, Ollie and Leo they have all been fantastic for us over the last few seasons. I hope we have said to them all they are always welcome back as that could be a strong possibility because lets face it when Poppies have a full team + subs, managers and physios they will out number the crowd 2 to 1 and I am sure the players like to play infront of some sort of crowd. Up the town!

Wow!! Two more fantastic signings in Steve Gilbert and Fawzi Saadi. During the 1st half of the match on Wednesday, I thought about all the players that were not on the pitch and it made me realise that not only do we have a great team for next season, but also a great squad. I really do think this could be our year!!
Well done to Tommy for bringing players of this calibre to our club, and well done to Chris, Clive and all those behind the scenes who have the ambition to keep our club going up and up. Bring on the season!!!

If you thought that was good, wot about today! Against a strong Dorchester side , we outplayed them , Maxie had hardly anything to do . Gazza was superb , also very impressed with the Smith boys, particulary Trefor. Oh yeh, we won 3-1 Gazza 2 & Taffy.
