Mr Reeves, have you any information on who were playing pre-season ? I see that AFCB are Ham Rec & Wimborne ,does that mean we've missed out on that money spinner,or have you bigger fish to land. if thats the case, any chance it could be a testimonial for Joe"the goal"Collins?

Is it the usual prices to get into these friendlies, trying to persuade some people at work to come along, you never know I might make them a Poole Town regular yet!? ;D

After the match last night, which completes the high profile friendlies, then supporters, can look forward to a good season. Against a very strong and skilful Eastleigh team the 0 0 draw was an excellent result for Poole. Other than Karim hitting the post in the first half, it was the Poole defence who had most work to do. All the defenders played really well and the 2 new centre backs looked very solid with good distribution to the creative midfield.

Pre-season seemed to go very well indeed. The lads performed well throughout a testing set of fixtures in which they looked competitive at all times, and never embarrassed or out of their depth – in fact quite the opposite. Each game threw up a different a challenge, with the side coping well with each game in turn.
But now for the real stuff. Great to have a good pre-season which gets the club buzzing and on the front foot, but that’s behind us. Let’s now take the form shown into the season, and make a real impact in the games ahead.
It seems that in terms of a nucleus of players, the side has grown both numerically and in quality. A top five finish is now realistic, a top three finish a possibility.
All the very best to all, the ability is in the side – let’s make it count.

Good to see how PTFC are now perceived in Wessex League circles (see excerpt from article below)
“ Here is Pitchside’s top six predictions for 2006/07:
Champions: Gosport Borough Runners Up: Poole Town Third: AFC Totton Fourth: Wimborne Town Fifth: VT FC Sixth: Bournemouth Poppies "
It’s going to be interesting (Didn’t we take 4 points off of Gosport last season. 2-0 up at their place !). If the lads deliver….watch this space !!! See you at Totton.
