desperately out of order !! taffy has huge passion and has been inspirational this season anyone can make an error and he felt worse about it you can be sure I can only summise that we have another mischievous post on our hands the 1st half display was awesome the 2nd goal killed us and taffy is man enough to hold his hands up--the were 18 other sides in the league that would have loved to have been where we were last night!

Good shout Poolite. I think over the two legs Poole did the club proud, staying competitive throughout keeping the tie alive until late on. Tight games like this are often decided on split second decisions. This one was. Some of those decisions within our control, others not. However, I would like to have seen how the game would have unfolded if the referee awarded the obvious penalty to Poole in the first ten minutes. O.K. I know it’s daft to carry on about referees and what they gave and what they didn’t. But let me just make this point. Asked by one of our lads why he did’nt give the pen’ the referee replied ; “The ball was hit at the defender from three yards” SO WHAT !!!! If a goalkeeper does exactly the same it’s “A great Point Blank Save” Commonsense is called for here. In midfield, take a view….. on the goal line you cannot deprive the attacking team. (By the way, first goal against……Poole throw in, not other way ‘round). But you take what you get, Andover did - and went on to win the game fair and square. Still, enough of that. It shows the strides taken, in that PTFC can stay competitive with who are considered one of the better sides in our league over 180 minutes of football. A little tweaking here and there, and Poole Town will without doubt be a force next season. This year is far from over. DSC to win , and the highest possible league position to achieve. Well done lads, a good cup run.

Ok Guys - enough is enough.
How anyone can come on here and criticise Taffy after the season he has put in for us is quite beyond belief.
As per previous messages etc and in an attempt to filter out some of the idiots that post on here, posting on this messageboard is now only allowed for registered members only. Everyone can still read the posts but you must register to create or reply to a thread.
Sorry if this proves a pain for anyone but I believe it is worth it if we want to keep this messageboard thriving.
As for last night - we gave it a go and as already mentioned, the first half was great and we were well worth our lead. Second half Andover stepped up a gear and in the end were just too good for us. No complaints - no arguments - good luck to them in the final.
Still proud of our boys (all of 'em!!).
Cheers,
Steve

i've never read such rubbish from "reserve team player" Taffy is an absolute legend,he's won us loads of matches this season, i know he can be a bit abrasive at times, but that's what the youngsters need sometimes. 1 mistake does not mean the end , Taffy, we love ya, keep on keeping on !

As a primarily Andover supporter but a football supporter in general may I be allowed to join the discussion. In the first leg of the semi final Taffy Richardson hd a superb game in front of the back four and played a major part in the game finishing with Poole only a goal adrift - time wasting apart ! Sure he was caught in possession on Wednesday but perhaps some credit is due to Justin bennett for his speed and willingness in closing people down. On the night Andover scored three quality goals and goals win matches. I am sure Poole will be a force to be reckoned with next season - give them the support they deserve.
Enjoy the rest of the season

John,
Nice reply, and I am sure we all wish you and Andover well too, you have had a good season.
I watched the away match at Hamworthy today, and Taffy I thought had a poorish match by his usual standards, and nearly cost a goal when caught in possession late on.
However, he is, in my opinion, inspirational on the pitch, leads by example, and never ducks a challenge, and is worth his place in the team for these qualities alone.
Today he displayed all of the above, and he clearly helps lift those around him, long may he continue to play and entertain I say!
