we drew 0-0 with a very strong Witchampton side, good performances by all players.
i feel we have had a good first season and as you well know many 16 year olds have appeared for the first team, each week we have changes, this can be up to five players sometimes, but that's reserve football and i am proud of the players who have never moaned about being in one week and out the next. This shows the standard and respect these players have for PTFC.
There is a hint that if we finish in the top five or even higher there maybe an outside chance of getting promoted as pitch facilities and lightd play a factor in promotion, however this would be a bonus, as we never set out to win this league but to produce quality youngsters and prepare them for first team football.
Remember most of these players are still 16/17 years old.
On a sad note both of my sons Marc(19) and Aaron(16) are joining the marines in the next 4 weeks, they like any player will be missed, but on a good note i have other adopted sons like Johny B and Chris S etc.....etc.....(only joking Johny).......
Also I would like to thank you the supporters for taking time out to watch us, you are as valuable as the players.
thanks kj

Poole Town Reseves will not be playing Hamworthy United at 7-30 on 15th March as we have to pay the DCFA nearly £60 every time we play under lights and it is therefore not ecconomical.

Although you probably mean well, I don't think we can take it as read the PTFC Res V HUFC Res game is not being played next week, if it is true perhaps you might get your Sec to speak to ours and make it offical rather than on this unoffical web site?. Two more points 1st, if Mr Pike continues to play half of a first team in the reserves to ensure HUFC Res win promotion (as is his right) it will be a good game? 2nd, PTFC have a very good fan base who WILL support the Res when the 1st are'nt playing and as this is something of a local derby with pride at stake you may well find you end up with your best Res attendance of this season todate!! Hope to see you all there, unless of course, you are just scared we might beat you this time. with 11 men on the park!!!.

I was indeed trying to be helpful, and I will try to get our Secretary to confim my comments. We do not charge for Reserve games so the size of your support would not matter, and as you arewell aware are Bar is not that big so can only take about seventy. I do find some of the comments of us being scared a little childish, so far Alex has only done it for the one game last week, and did you not use several 1st Team Squad members in your home game against us. We are trying to get the Reserves into the Dorset Premier League and will do what it takes. At least we are not calling off games like Portland Reseves. I do not wish to get into a slagging match, and I wish both your teams the best of luck, but obviously not against us. If your team as it looks likely gets promoted then I honestly believe it can only be good for the area and both teams.

Interesting thoughts, but the fact it costs you 60 quid to play midweek or what ever. is of no concern to PTFC, if you win promotion which appears likley, how will you cope next season as having floodlights is pre-requisite for the DPL, oh yes, and being able to use them!!! I am sure, if like PTFC at Res games most spectators are happy to put a donation in a bucket to assist. if it is not played then, what with both 1st teams fixtures already sorted when will it be played? resulting in an early evening ko, players leaving work early the problems go on. as delia said 'lets be avin u'

If we get promoted we will be charging a Gate as every other Premier League side. I have contacted the Secretary and he informs me that the game is indeed off. The fixture secretary did not realise that we have to pay for the lights, and admits she should not have scheduled it . The problem we have if we play this one we would then have to play other games which may well be not so well supported.

As I understand it there has been no contact from Hamworthy to suggest there is any problem with the game so as far as PTFC is concerned the fixture is still on.Club call will no doubt confirm one way or the other

I am sure the comments about floodlights and the cost etc etc for the Res fixture next Wed posted on this board by a Hammerite are valid, but I also believe the HUFC 1st team have a fixture that night, would any other cynic think that this also may have a bearing in weather this fixture will be played!! any thoughts?

Nice one SJ!
Various Hamworthy United connected people were extremely cynical earlier this season on the Dorset Football Forums about our having to postpone the fixture at Tatnam due to the pumping station works.
Part of me suggests we shouldn't stoop to their level, but the other part wants to really have some fun with this.
I'm sure Hammerite is 100% genuine though - there has been fun and games in the past about the use of the lights there. I recall the first team playing its winter fixtures at 2.15 to avoid using the lights. I'd also wonder why the DSL has found itself having to schedule midweek games in a small league - the unnecessary Xmas break didn't help?
