From the Mugpie site:
The Walker Brothers will be starring at Cuthbury on Saturday with brothers Michael and Nathan both set to make their league debuts on Saturday when Wimborne Town host Lymington Town

ok -13c but -23C with the windchill today by beautiful Lake Ontario. Looking at Wimborne's latest moves the question arises Are we ready financially for the next step up the ladder?? Obviously the present squad will have to be strengthened if we progress so how do we raise the money to make this possible. Aren't any of those millionaires out at Sandbanks interested in football?? After over 50yrs since I first watched PTFC I STILL BELEIVE that we have the potential to be a major force in non league football and the ideas floated here re getting attendances over 600 are a good first step, fund raising, and we need a RESERVE team!! surely our success would make many promising local players proud to be part of the organisation. UP THE TOWN!!!!!!!!

I expect Chris and the rest of the management team are quietly considering the possibility of a higher league and the need to strenghthen the squad. They will be up for it I'm sure. We will need a new stadium and a lot more helpers to ensure we make the most of any chance we might get........there might be only one

50 years expat! I've served just over that. The first 'Town' game I saw was against Street in the old Western League circa 1952 or 53. I had to ask which team was Poole.
I agree with everything you've said and slepe - as usual - is right as well.

Brian-- in that case Kirky must have been the keeper!! I do remember player such as Bill "Tanky"Foster, Ted Kerslake who later did a great job with the reserves ,Jock Salter and the tempetuous Eric Bryant who was always worth a tantrum or two...I doubt he would be on the pitch very much in these days of yellow and red cards...incidentally Cllr Leverett was once a DFA linesman!!(not a very speedy one!!!)

Yes, John Kirk was in goal expat and I particularly recall Kerslake and Eric Bryant - often in trouble - as you say. Also Horace Cumner and , if I think about it, I'd be able to come up with some others.....
