I've just been reading Tommy's article in the Echo, link on the home page, and his view concerning the home league game versus Wimborne. I feel he has a real point that if a game as big as Poole Town v Wimborne Town could be played on a Saturday instead of midweek it would have a real chance of being a showcase game for the Wessex Premier, possibly promoting the largest Wessex Premier Crowd ever. What do you people think ?

You would have to get to your seat early, slepe. And I'd have to wash the flag

With the right marketing, kids for quid, schools invite, help from the Echo to advertise etc I see no reason why we couldn't attract a 6-800 crowd. I would imagine in these difficult financial times such a game would raise the bar for the Wessex League and might even help them raise awareness amongst possible sponsors.

I am from over the Stour and agree it would be good for all concerned to switch this game to a Saturday if it were possible. People on this side of the river get spooked going down Gravel Hill in the dark, they are Ok about going up the hill in the dark for some reason ?? Prizes for the funniest suggestion. Using that "logic" we would get more WTFC supporters willing to put their boots on and get to Tattynam on a Saturday than a Tuesday. ;D PS if any of you are ska, reggae, dub etc fans do listen to my weekly show on Forest FM 92.3 (forestfm.co.uk) Saturday nights 2200h - 2400h or podcast www.djdapperdan.podOmatic.com

Yes I also agree switching it to a saturday would definetely get a much larger crowd in. Could pass the 600 mark. Is there any chance of this actually happening though?

Good to have views from both sides of the camp, Is it worth us supporters e-mailing the Wessex League ? Towncrier, I'm out of your area for radio coverage but will tune in via the net when I get back from Newport. In the meantime lets hope we can influence the Wessex League the reggae way. Let your yea be yea... uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LBOpyJPs5l0&feature=related

Guys I can confirm we as a club have approached the Wessex league to consider the game be played on a Friday night, we are allowed a maximum of two fixtures per season to be played on a Friday, that way we could get even more fans than some of you are suggesting, all AFCB, and local teams etc etc could come, whether or not they agree and of course we need Wimborne onside remains to be seen, we will keep you informed but I hope they do.

That will still mean a certain amount of juggling as the Saturdays are all full, so we will need to shift one of them to a midweek. Looks like a busy end of season.................but would enjoy a Friday night win at Tatnum.

According to the fixtures on the Full Time site, neither we nor Wimborne currently have fixtures on the Saturdays 14 and 28 March.

You are right as the Xcurch game has been switched from 14th Mar. 28th March England have a match against Slovakia.

On both those weekends AFCB are away up North. It would be great if the Wessex League see this as an ideal oppurtunity to stage such a big game.
