They lost 1-0 but certainly put up a good fight against the league leaders. Poole had the better of the play in the 1st half, but a mistake by the keeper gifted a goal to Chickerell early in the 2nd half and we were unable to break down the strong chickerell midfield.
The team is still playing some good football at times but just not having the rub of the green.

Rob is one of the youngsters, played right back today and played quite well, some good defending and pushed forward and got some good crosses in during the 1st half. In the 2nd half he had a lot more defending to do but pushed forward in the later stages of the game. Looks like a useful player.

it was nice to see a few people watching this fixture, Chickerell are a good team as a unit, but they are very honest they gave my youngsters a lot of respect and there comments after the game, proved we are going in the right direction.
Rob Webb joined us during the week from Hamworthy, I have always admired this tigerish player and he is only just 16, he was with me at AFC Bournemouth, Rob can play in many positions and want look out of place. He is another for the future and may get TK attention soon.
Just to update you on Marc Jackson who played left back today and was outstanding as the supporters will agree, i have had a long chat with him and he wants to carry on playing for PTFC, and regrets what went on, he needs to get his head down and keep playing well. You never know.
My back four yesterday were outstanding, Johny Byron playing only his second game played alongside Paul Bayston was a rock.
I would like reflect on the goal yesterday, yes Lee made a howler, we all remember when a goalkeeper makes a error, but we forget the two penalty saves that gave us the three points against Witchampton.
Funny old game

Our top goal scorer at the moment is Chris Snell, who has been playing wide on the right, yes we do miss Jay, but yesterday Chris worked hard and deserves a run, remember we have lost Carl to the 1st, as their strikers are injured so when they are available they will be selected for either the first or reserve side.
The signing of young Rob Webb was to release Chris to a more attacking role. Dont forget Mike Glanville will be available soon.
If youre one of my players use your name it stops the crap being banded about on this site, you know yopu can talk to me and i will answer your questions.
Just look at what we have acheived in such a little time, the last four games have been lost only by the single goal, if you played yesterday you must be pleased with your performance, we didnt deserve to loose, but an error coast us, thats football, people see the result, theĆ½ are not interested in anything else, just beleive in yourself and why you are at PTFC.

I watched the reserves yesterday, couldnt make 1st team, and was encouraged by the way the youngsters play. They try to play football and i was really pleased they could hold their own against a top of the table side. There appeared to be a new coach assisting kj in the dug out, and he really seemed to know his stuff. Who is he? He encouraged the younger players really well. Just wat is needed

is there noway of getting Carl back for the next reserves game. It has become very frustrating with no natural striker on the pitch from my point of view.

i think the reserves should be proud of the way they are playing at the moment. the future appears very bright for these young lads and i am very encouraged for the future of the club. we must do everything we can to keep these boys for as long as possible. i have watched the reserves several times this season and have been impressed with the attitude of the players. they dont give in, and once a few goals go in, im sure they wont look back at there recent near losses. i believe we can have one of the better attacking sides in the league, we just need a little confidence. keep going boys!!!!

must be a way we can get hold of a goalscorer - I know Rob Web has been tempted away from Hamworthy, I know they have quality strikers that may be unhappy at the moment. It would be good to have Grame Ross or Lee Belows. Anyone know of any other strikers we could bring to the club?
It would be great to see both the 1sts and reserves have good seasons
All the best lads

Having played with these two I agree they are quality goalscorers - not sure if they would be tempted for a move to Pooles reserves though - think Hamworthy United Res are top 3 (correct me if I'm wrong)? Agree we do need someone to score 20 goals this season for us - they may be the solution - lets see if KJ can work his majic

i dont blame the kid for wanting to get out of stourpaine. its a lovely club but it is not going anywhere which is a shame because it has got the potential to be good.

No Left Foot??!! i saw the kid play the other week. i agree that maybe he went about it the wrong way in posting that message like he did. but he didnt seem to have no left foot when i saw him, he can play on both sides and is strong with both feet. suprised he is still at stourpaine.

what a difference a week makes!! a superb effort from the reserves today. actually ended up dissapointed with a 2 - 2 draw, against 2nd place barwick. again, the reserves played all the football only to go behind in the 15th minute from a corner not cleared from what was really only barwick's only chance. Sam Dobbs and Paul Bayston ran the vistors defence ragged, creating all sorts of problems. well supported by hard working midfield. sturgess, harris, thomas, wells and thornton. the back 3 of cherrett, byrom, and jackson more than held their own. half time came, still 1 nil down joint stand in manager's of bayston and martin dobbs asked for more of the same in the 2nd half, and boy did they get it ;D 5 mins into the 2nd half, following a corner, the ball dropped to the un marked cherrett on the pen spot, who drove it high into the net reserves continued to play all the football, and it was no suprise after the award of a free kick, some 28 yards out (cherrett claimed it was 35) cherrett drove it in BECKHAM style to give the reserves a 2 - 1 lead. the dissapointment came with literally the last kick of the game when barwick poached an equaliser. not even having time to kick off again. that said as rob bayston and martin dobbs hand the reigns back to K.J after his short break. they would both like to thank the players for all their efforts. todays team was as follows: mitchener, cherrett, byrom, jackson, wells, sturgess, harris, thornton, thomas, bayston, dobbs. the subs were : martin (who played), gunpath, satterly.
