Poole town put in a strong second half performance with 5 goals in the last 45 minutes to take the game 5-1. Highlight of the evening was seeing young prospect, Jordan Fiske, come off the bench for the last ten minutes and score with a headed goal, this was after he had another looping header just clear the upright with the keeper beaten.
It wasn't hard to see how Alton beat Cowes at the weekend as they grew in confidence in the first 45 minutes, even though Poole had the lions share of the chances but just couldn't convert. Instead Alton popped up with the only goal of the half to go in 1-0 at the break.
In the second half Sturg in for Taffy hit the first goal from a shot on the run, closely followed by Smithy. The ever cool Skelts hit a rasping third from distance which was again closely followed by Billy's headed goal after more good work by Gilly. With Hubbard and Fiske coming off the bench for the last 10 minutes it set up a rallying finale with young Jordan Fiske working hard at movement and finding space to add the fifth. Well Done Jordan and well done lads for keeping ' at it '. My MOM was the hard working Gilly.

Was quite depressed this morning after a school board meeting last night. But have cheered up remarkably now, thanks m3. Am walking around Swanwick singing Dorset 5 Hampshire 1. Excellent to see young Jordan come on and score. The future's bright, the future's Red And White. COYD :-)

Thanks for the report M3. Bit of a shock to hear Poole were 1 down at half time. Good to see they had the character to come back and win so convincingly.

sounds like it was a really good game, it was a shame that I had to miss it. However I was tucked up in front of an open fire watching the logs burn, sipping whiskey.

You're welcome peeps. Just something that also came to mind last night - in this same fixture last season young Ashley Ayley also made his bow as a substitute in a high scoring victory. Is it any wonder that reading through the Poole Town History recently, while in between jobs, I read the young Tommy Killick also made his debut for the club at 16. It's good to see Tommy carrying on the tradition and using the youngsters when given the chance, in both Jordan and Ashley we have a very bright future. Well done lads!!

Get the impression that we'll have a Reserve Team next season, could be a good staging post for our younger players between U18 and First Team. Could see how with the team doing so well, the youth players could have their heads turned elsewhere.

It's very encouraging to see youngsters making the transition from the U18 youth side to the first team. Good support again alst night with five flags on show behind the goal. Nice one!!

All involved with all of our youngsters have to be congratulated on their fantastic work. Home grown players making the First Team must be extremely gratifying for them, and shows our youngsters what they can achieve. And to think of the talent in the younger teams that has yet to come. :-)

Great report m3! Thanks a lot. Just wish I could have been there as planned before partners illness intervened. Oh well at least we bounced back and won handsomely. I think we should have a reserve team sterte so let's hope you're right. Not just for the youngsters, good though that is, but also for players not getting regular first team outings, returning from injury and so on. Good to hear from you again expat. I also think it's us or VT and in the end or - as sterte said - 'it's us'! I may have seen you 'pushing the shale' at the speedway. My first hero was Ken Middleditch! That'll tell you how old I am!!!!
