" It's a funny old game " was that Saint or Greavsies saying ?
Indeed this was a funny old game. We got 'stuck in' right from the off but our chances were either blocked or saved and it would be fair to say we had the lions share of the game in the first half, including the chances.
Wether it was lack of match sharpness after two weeks off I don't know but we just couldn't seem to convert our possession into goals. Instead Bitton break and score three times with three chances. Mike Walker scored for us and as we trudged off 3-1 at half-time I had to pinch myself at the scoreline.
In the second half the pitch cut up heavy and a penalty decision put them 4-1 up. Charlie pulled one back to make it 4-2 and we had a few more chances including what seemed like a cast iron penalty ourselves, but it wasn't to be.
The lads tried their hardest but we must now look to the next big game on Tuesday at Alton to put this result behind us. Great support from Poole fans once again with 5 flags behind the goal showing support.
Let's go again at Alton! see you there with el flago.

Thanks for all the updates. Gutted to hear we lost. Seems like the big cups did not have our name on this year. So lets settle for League Champions instead.

M3 you are quite right - we had all the play and could not score. Their number 11 was superb blocking almost every attack down his wing - and we got killed on the break. I am not sure three at the back was our best tactic - and Lamin was not at his best first half. We had lots of possession second half too - keeper made a couple of good saves.
But did they moan - worse than Taffy.
Bad day at the office - concentrate on the league
Good to see Jason there

i was there & i think sterte's summery was about right ! so unlucky for the pen, it hit the bar & the rebound hit Lamin who could not get out the way !we hit the bar had an effort cleared off the bar, just one of those days. we've not been playing well for a while & have got away with it, this might be our wake up call !

Gutted to hear we lost. Not being able to get to any of the recent run of away games, I've only had the results to look forward to. I fact it's been a 'double wammy', for me, this weekend with Stoke coming a cropper at ManU (at least stfcinbmth is 'half' happy!). However, let Saturday be a good warm up ahead of the next all important league match. COYD.

I hate the fact we lost, I hate it even more as I am not going to get to any matches till next week, and even that is in doubt.

I was away at the weekend and didn't get the result until late on Sunday. "Gutted" is about right peterlep but your right, we'll win the league and get promotion and that'll do for me!! Thanks for the report m3, it's made me feel a good bit better but will I ever get to Wembley? To make matters worse I was planning on a little trip 'home' this week and being at Alton on Tuesday but my partner is ill so I can't go!

Am looking forward to playing Torquay again, as we rise up the pyramid. Mind they're that bad that Argyle won't loan them players anymore!!Congrats to m3 on the extra star, i would've thought that cookie would've been the most decorated if she typed as much as she talked..
