Just wanted to Say good luck to both squads for the games tommorow. The first team really, really need to get a result. So best of luck. I heard Stuart Brown has signed for 3 months according to the Salisbury Site. Not seem him play but maybe he can improve things.
Was he the mystery Striker that you have been talking about Steve?

Hi Mark,
Yes - Stuart Brown has signed from Salisbury. Has has played 3 games for us before including a friendly this pre-season. Very good player - big, strong South African striker. Got 2 goals in two games for us a year or so ago.
The other striker was Aaron Turner who has now signed for Poole Town since he got back from the US. Played for the reserves midweek but not sure how long it will take to get him up to match fitness.
There is no doubt that these two will seriously add to our firepower over the coming weeks / months.
As above - best of luck to both sides tomorrow - let's get those vital wins.
Cheers,
Steve

Yes great to have Aaron and Stuart joining Poole. There is no doubt that this was the one area of the team that really needs strengthening. Stuart has played for us a few times over the last couple of years and has always played well and scored goals. Aaron is no doubt one of the best strikers about at this level as he has already proved at Wimborne and elsewhere.
Saw Aaron play for his Sunday team this morning and he looks quite a way off of fitness unfortunately. But, if he plays for the reserves, Sundays and trains then Im sure it wont be long before we see him in the 1st team.

Having watched the 1st team play on Tuesday and Saturday i feel Carl Chivers has made an impact. He looked lively against Alresford (nearly equilising, bar a great save from the keeper) and the team scored both goals on Saturday while he was on the pitch having not done so while he was on the bench. i think he deserves atleast a start to see how the team react or Carl to play in the reserves cause they were obviously lacking upfront against Sturminster.
Any other views??

I see the Res don't appear to have a game this weekend? is this so or has KJ got something planned? Is this the opportunity for Tommy to get some of the youngsters involved with the 1st team set up?

Yep I agree, Carl has done well in the last 2 games and as you quite rightly say looked the most likely to score at Alresford and made a difference on Saturday as we pulled back from 2 goals behind.

Am I not mistaken but to define a player as 1st team or 2nd team, is pointless, they all play for Poole Town FC and should not be put into a catorgory, of course some play more than others in respective teams, but if an individual is playing well enough and Tommy feels he can do a job for him he will be picked for the 1st or vice versa, we do not want to create a " them and us" attitude. Indeed should Arron Turner or Anthony Warrington etc get fit Carl may have to "drop" down to the reserves for a period. would he feel a failure at 16yr of age? certainly not in my eyes. We must aviod it being seem like he has done something wrong. Likewise because of injury or lack of form by others, he has been fortunate enough to play at an early stage in his career for the firsts dos'nt mean he has made it yet, there are a few other youngsters Tommy will be calling on through the season I am sure from the Res. as part of their further education. Any thoughts?
