Any chance someone can post the score of tonights freindly later. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it because of work commitments but I'm keen to know how our new look side fairs against a higher non league side. Thanks.

Normally no problem, but don't think I'll get back soon enough. Got to work tomorrow very early. Will fill you in on Saturday, if someone hasn't already done it. I'm sure someone will be on-line, especially when they see the players.

I thought Poole were fairly solid in defence - with Lam & Luke linking up well. The team tried hard to pass the ball around, but occasionally gave away too cheaply. I felt Dorchester only just had the edge - so all credit to Poole given the 3 divisions between them. My main concern was in the final third. We never really had a chance all game and did not seem to have too many ideas how we were to score. There were lots of changes at half time - fair enough for a friendly but clearly made it difficult for continuity. Too many crosses/corners were too easy for their keeper. So plenty to work on before the season proper starts.

Thanks for taking the time to update. In the end I had to give in to the "Poole pull" and came down to see the team squad play. Thought it was a good close contest in the first half with Swann and Sturgess looking good, we looked a bit light weight up front but seeing it was the first game I'm not too worried. It was a good run out, and the pitch looked good. Thanks.

All round display was very encouraging. The result was not important, we matched them for long periods in both defence and midfield. Only concern is upfront, we still don't seem to have that cutting edge. Where are the goals coming from???
Wish someone had taken the time to introduce the new boys, had a devil of a job trying to identify them. I was reliably informed the guy wearing no. 9 last night was a trialist called Charlie Austen, from Thatcham. He showed some good touches, strong and could at least head the ball. Hopefully he will stay!! ;D
Met a guy last night reckons the squad is a very strong one and will be top of the league and "out of sight" by Chrimbo'. Bye, Bye Wimborne.

I hope you'e right slepe. Your confidence makes me a bit edhy! I'm a bit like m3dolphin as far as predictions go so I daren't risk making any! Historically, my support has been like a 'kiss of death' to football teams so maybe it's about time that changed.

I was really impressed the way the players "blended" together, bearing in mind they had spent so little time together. This occasionally happens when a group of players just "hit it off" and regardless of the skill level(although there is no problem on that score) they produce performances which exceed their "on paper" expectations. This is an area where Tommy seems to be particularly gifted, motivating players. This current squad will be a "piece of cake" for Tommy, they seemed very switched on, on Friday night. My recent acquaintance( who would like to be known as "Touchline" and is very knowledgeable on these matters ) believes the squad is very capable, and is convinced they will rise to the top, just like the cream ;D
