Ringwood and Downton look like they've departed and it also looks like Laverstock & Ford are taking Tadley Calleva's place for some reason ? Another trip to the Isle of Wight. www.tonykempster.co.uk/newwessp.htm

I think both Tadley and Laverstock & Ford were due to come up, but Tadley are having big problems with their new ground. So Alresford look like being reprieved. I think it gets signed off at the league AGM this Sunday, so this is provisional. This discussion on Tony K's site adds some detail www.nlpl.co.uk/forum/gforum.cgi?post=102445;search_string=tadley;guest=#102445Shame to see that Liss have had to drop out of Wessex 1, especially after they put lights and barriers up.

neutral, you went to Tadley a few times last season. What was wrong with their ground. I was really looking forward to seeing them next season.

Unfortunately they don't have any stand whatsoever and the bar is a pub down the road. Will be really nice eventually but they decided to pay some pretty big money to players, if you believe the rumours, but failed to develop the ground by the end of last month.

neutral, you went to Tadley a few times last season. What was wrong with their ground. I was really looking forward to seeing them next season. When PT weren't playing I went along for the odd game and probably saw around half a dozen games in all. My own personal take on things, slepe, is they have come ' too far too soon ' and after the first season in their new ground in which the flood lights have just been fitted they perhaps realistically need a couple of seasons before they're ready. OK they have a nice level pitch all properly fenced in with a new pavilion but without turnstiles, stands and clubhouse it is still lacking. Another thing to consider which is equally important; they haven't had enough time to build up a hard core support willing to donate funds and time to help, which we all know is important for any non-league club, and as such there is no matchday programme, just a leaflet. They also have no hot food on offer. All credit to those involved though as they certainly are trying their best with mainly local lads playing a good game of football which I would put somewhere in the top 10 of the Wessex Premier. I think the rumours of paying big money to the players are unfounded.

I see we're playing Dorchester in a pre-season friendly soon. Anyone know why Dorchester was reprieved from relegation?

One of the Conference North clubs (Nuneaton Borough, I think) was expelled for financial reasons. Dorchester had the best record amongst the relegated Conference clubs across the North and South divisions.

Lucky them! Hope Town get the same kind of good fortune if they need it - except being saved from from not going up rather than saved from going down - if you see what I mean!! Thanks doughug.
