Love to be able to do that, but unfortunetely we only have a vocal output and not a musical one as the locals were moaning about the noise ! Sorry ,i'm the announcer. Last season i played Thin Lizzy's" The boys are back in town", and before that ,the theme from "Magnum".

We have authorisation, its just that ,about a month ago,at one point, the music was played far too loud(not by me ,i hasten to add !)and,as far as i'm aware Mr.Reeves just said curb it for a while. So maybe next season eh !

I think it's important that there is an "anthem" that identifies the team. We want teams to feel that Tatnam is a fortress, when they walk out is a perfect time to remind them that they are up against it. We should throw this open to the supporters, get them to suggest a rousing, nerve jangling ditty. When teams run out at Anfield there is no doubt what the crowd want to see. Why not Tatnam?? I'm sure Mr Reeves will see the value.

Sorry if this is a repeat message - but I wasn't sure if my first attempt worked.
I fully agree that we need an anthem and a proper musical one would be great. But why don't the Poole Town LOYAL raise up their voices instead. In fact, not just for the first 30 seconds, when the lads come onto the pitch, but why not keep it going throughout the match? We need to offer the lads as much 'positve' support as possible.
The most 'alive' match I attended, was one last season, when the ladies team stayed (after training) to watch. Their cheering and singing from the sideline was 'electric'.
I know the 'hard core' supporters are very vocal (the best of any club, in my opinion), but it seems to be a bit 'negative' at times, in the form of jeering and abuse at the ref & lines (ok - justified at times) but also at the opposition and even our own lads. I'm sure the lads would be encouraged further by increased 'positive' support in the form of singing.
Does anyone remember "Morning Glory" by the Wurzels? Did you know they adapted the words in support of Bristol City? Well I was singing in the bath (as you do) when I thought we could do the same, well with the chorus anyway. How about:
"One for the Poole Town Dolphins, Two for the red and white, Three for the fans down Tatnum Farm, We'll cheer with all our might......my boys, We'll cheer with all our might".
Can anyone bring a drum - or is that to loud for the neighbours?
Just a thought, but our lads deserve all the support we can give them.
However, please don't look at me to lead - we want to offer support, not scare the lads. I've even been asked not to sing to loudly in church. Oh, and I've cracked the bath.

Hmmmmmmm. some interesting comments there. However, the drum may be a no..no.
Like the Wurzel type ditty....creating a noise shouldn't be a problem. Turning it into a positive direction may be more difficult.
More suggestions are needed!!!

How about keeping it simple and borrowing Pompey's song " Play up Poole Town, Poole Town Play up " Or " Come on You Poole, Come on you Poole " Or " We are Poole, We are Poole, We are Poole "

I have only been to 2 matches so far - but my thought was lack of song / vocal support.
Variations to other teams songs can work - examples being:
"Red, Red, Red & White army" "Come on Poole Town, Come on Poole Town"
Both of these are pretty dull I admit!
How about (can't explain the tune but hopefully you will work it out)
"And we're Poole Town, Poole Town FC, And we're red and we're white and we live by the sea And we're Poole Town, Poole Town FC, And we're red and we're white and we live by the sea etc., etc"
I recently saw Bournemouth play Doncaster. The Doncaster fans were fantastic - so vocal they drowned out Bourenmouth. They had a drum!
So I agree we need to make the supporters the 12th player

I was thinking more a " you'll never walk alone" or "I'm forever blowing bubbles", something of that order. So it could be played when they run out, we could join in ;D ;D ;D
Since we are a Town with a port etc., How about the Rod Stewart, Sailing, we are sailing.

There are some really good suggestions amongst this lot. I like the idea of "Sailing" and the Wurzels, and the Pompey chimes and peterlep's idea!!! Perhaps the club should shortlist and ballot us all somehow.
