It was an ideal morning, weather wise for football, bright and mild with a damp pitch from yesterdays rain. Dan Cann Got Poole off to a good start when he drilled home a low shot from the edge of the area into the right hand corner past the stretching dive of the Hamworthy number 1. Ben Osbourne got the second when he touched in a goal bound shot from Trefor Smith, who had found himself space before the shot with some delicate footwork. Harvell saved well from a close range header to send Poole in at half time two up and the crowd of 334,Pooles second best of the season relaxed at half time in good spirits. The second half saw Hamworthy still a yard off Pooles play with Poole having most of the possession and some quality shots on goal, topped off by a peach of a scorching shot, from a free kick 30 yards out taken by Cann, which was well saved by the opposition keeper. With Wimborne losing at the poppies the Dolphins extended their lead to 4 points at the top,and all with FOUR Smiths on the pitch once Steve and Pete were used as subs and joined Chris and Trefor on the green stuff. Next stop Salisbury, and Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Saturday. Well Done Lads!! Ground being prepared an hour before kick off.
