The showpiece of English Football arrives at the BlackGold stadium on Saturday in the form of the F A CUP first preliminary Round. With ambition in abundance circling in the Poole boardroom this seems to be the right time for the team to bring this optimism to the field of play taking the club through to the first round proper. When you consider various non league clubs of the same level and below Poole reach this stage of the competition it appears to be achievable and well within the scope of this club. It would gain National publicity and at the same time generate substantial prize money.

See that the Bracknell v Dagenham tie is being screened by the BBC.
I just saw that on the BBC website too. It would have been nice if it was someone other than Bracknell yet again. Not that I have anything against them personally, but what with this and the Isuzu FA Trophy, after the FA Cup, it would have been nice to have been drawn against another team.
At least the photo on the BBC website shows the Dolphins too.
Oh Dear! So Bracknell have their F A CUP match on television. Poole miss the big time yet again and some considerable financial gain talk about opportunities thrown away is an under statement. If the the club wants to progress in accordance to the boardroom script they need a team capable of producing the right results.

Disappointed to be out. Hopefully beat them in the FA Trophy at the end of October. Between now and then the real test, 4 though league games. Tomorrow away at a rejuvenated Basingstoke Town. Onto Tuesday night & home to are nemesis last season, Tiverton Town. Then onto Saturday 20th & a tough one at home to pace setters Chesham United. Finally on Tuesday 24th we renew rivalry with relegated Hungerford Town. Hopefully 12 points, but we will need to be on top form & have as fully fit squad to have any chance. After these 4 games we really have a could idea of where are season could be heading.

Thrown Away! Yup one would say giving up two penalties in the last 5 minutes qualifies for that sobriquet(wow!!) Is it any wonder that many of the (un) faithful will not return until we show some consistency and unfortunately that means Wimborne Town will continue to match or exceed our attendance!! However that third goal of ours vs Sholing was a cracker and i hope that lad gets a starting role soon.
