I have sent an email on behalf of Chris to all members of the supporters club, and all Season ticket holders from last season for whom I have a valid email address. If you fit into either of those groups and you can’t see an email from me, then please check your junk folder. If you fit in to either of these groups, and don’t receive an email by tomorrow, then please message me on here with a valid email address and I will forward the email to you separately.

I've supported the club since 1982 and attend matches home and away. I've never had a season ticket and don't belong to the supporters club so it seems I'm excluded from the 'consultation'. Also, are you going to publish the result of the consultation?

Also, are you going to publish the result of the consultation? Apparently there is an offer of a 6 figure sum to change our kit from Red and white to black and gold and change the badge in a 3 year deal.

Speaking as a neutral, this seems like a no-brainer to me.
Securing the future of the club has to be the priority, especially against the backdrop of a pandemic that could be knocking around for months or years.

Will the shirts have plenty of gold, what colour will shorts and socks be? I am thinking of a possible clash with the referee. I get the impression they have to wear black in the Southern League. Otherwise, as already said, a no brainer.

Yep totally agree. Have replied to club affirming my support of this initiative. If black & gold prove either very satorial or lucky (perhaps it will help it rain less at Tatnam!) it might be preferred & become the new normal. Let's hope we are back in action soon, so we can start to find out. COYD 🐬

I've agreed. We need the money and think of all the new scarves and replica shirts the club can sell. And the clincher is that the MorecambeDolphin likes the idea of Black and Gold. COYD

Yes this offer looks interesting and worth serious consideration. Its a way forward for the club. I have supported and followed Poole since 1955 One thing that comes to mind Black and Gold are the club colours of Poole Borough.

Wasn't that the premise of Poole Borough that the 1880s Poole Hornets wore Black and Gold? now, seeing that we no longer have a reserve 'Poole Town"side could this be an opportunity for two teams, born of the same ancestry. to co-operate for the future of football in Poole? It is not unusual in North America for two teams from one organisation to play under different titles. Red and White or Black and Gold its still
UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!! for me

Is this what we have become? Has the mighty dollar so to speak become the holy grail? What's next? Another Franchise FC? Is our identity worth 30 pieces of silver? If this is to happen, I want no part. At least for the duration of the deal

In regards to the new kit could there be a few designs that fans could then vote on?

Expat mentioned Poole Borough in a recent post. Do they still play at Turlin Moor ?. Might not be for much longer if BCP gets their way.

Given BD's (not completely unreasonable) response is this an all or nothing offer? Is there any discussion to be had, or an offer the club can put back to BlackGold?
Kit changes, name changes and so on quite rightly generate emotive responses from fans and whilst not quite franchise football it can be a slippery slope and long-term fans thoughts shouldn't be dismissed with a 'bye then' from others and their concerns want to be addressed. I 'fell out of love' with high level football when a foreign owner came in and changed my team's kit to red from blue a number of years ago and have only seen them play once since even though they've since changed it back (to the benefit of PTFC who have had my money instead).
Of course it's fair that the BoD have outlined all of the benefits of taking this money, it means that the club can plan for the next few years at a level where clubs (even more so at the moment) increasingly live hand to mouth.
What (if any) are the other options here? What outcomes follow those options?
Can we negotiate a change of away kit for a lower investment meaning we can keep red and white at home? Is that an option? Even if the investment is lower it would at least mean we have a plan for the next few seasons and is something I doubt anyone would object to.
What happens if there is no investment? Is it a case that the club probably/possibly goes to the wall? Again in that situation it seems churlish for anyone to object.
Would it instead mean that we might have to consider playing a level or two below where we are currently? Not the end of the world but something for fans to consider.
Things rarely are simply that Black and White (or Black & Gold!), if people have all the information to hand they can make the best decisions, and other fans might also consider that just because someone has a different opinion to their own it doesn't mean they need to be told they are daft or to do one. We're better than that aren't we?

Good points Welsh Dolphin One would hope that we CAN continue to play at our current level (or whatever comes out of post COVID) Another slog upwards from the nether regions of NL football would probably be just too much for the Club and its supporters. Like many others I get a bit bewildered about all this "sponsorship" but if it enables the Club to survive and compete then we have to swallow our sensibilities I don't know how the empty stadium football is going down over there but here in NA its a lead balloon. The game and the players need the fans and sooner rather than later. clubs such as ours with relatively small attendance might be better placed to work out the social distancing angle. The whole situation must again bring attention to developing and retaining local talent.Yes that means a reserve or alternate team which can be watched locally and not 30 miles away! ....and of course the Elephant in the ointment.....a Stadium fit for the major non league team in the BCP conurbation. Didn't the club play in yellow & blue as its main colours for some seasons. So why not black & gold for a few now. Also if black & gold will it be in the half & half format (my preference) as now or something else?

Surely the Club is more important than the colour of the strip they play in! That was the point of the questions I posed. If there is no investment does the club fold? Is it that black & white? To some history and tradition are more important than a short term gain so to them it isn't. Although as Dave pointed out how much history is there to Poole playing in red and white when we were in yellow not too long ago?
