Given BD's (not completely unreasonable) response is this an all or nothing offer? Is there any discussion to be had, or an offer the club can put back to BlackGold? Kit changes, name changes and so on quite rightly generate emotive responses from fans and whilst not quite franchise football it can be a slippery slope and long-term fans thoughts shouldn't be dismissed with a 'bye then' from others and their concerns want to be addressed. I 'fell out of love' with high level football when a foreign owner came in and changed my team's kit to red from blue a number of years ago and have only seen them play once since even though they've since changed it back (to the benefit of PTFC who have had my money instead). Of course it's fair that the BoD have outlined all of the benefits of taking this money, it means that the club can plan for the next few years at a level where clubs (even more so at the moment) increasingly live hand to mouth. What (if any) are the other options here? What outcomes follow those options? Can we negotiate a change of away kit for a lower investment meaning we can keep red and white at home? Is that an option? Even if the investment is lower it would at least mean we have a plan for the next few seasons and is something I doubt anyone would object to. What happens if there is no investment? Is it a case that the club probably/possibly goes to the wall? Again in that situation it seems churlish for anyone to object. Would it instead mean that we might have to consider playing a level or two below where we are currently? Not the end of the world but something for fans to consider. Things rarely are simply that Black and White (or Black & Gold!), if people have all the information to hand they can make the best decisions, and other fans might also consider that just because someone has a different opinion to their own it doesn't mean they need to be told they are daft or to do one. We're better than that aren't we? don’t forget as I mentioned recently it wasn’t long ago that we were playing in blue and yellow, if you go to poole stadium even the sign/badge on the wall is blue and yellow

Didn't the club play in yellow & blue as its main colours for some seasons. So why not black & gold for a few now. Also if black & gold will it be in the half & half format (my preference) as now or something else? Yes Dave exactly that

Hopefully we are keeping the badge as it is or is one of the dolphins going to become a black dolphin & the other a gold one?

Why is this offer being chewed over ?.The club set up an appeal to raise £15,000 and the last time I looked just over £2000 had been raised, which means that either money is in short supply or people are a little more careful on how they spend it. We should be grateful that Mr Gale is prepared to put his own money forward in support of the club. What would the discussion on here turn to if he were to withdraw his offer?.

Just having a bit of fun re the badge. 😉Think Mr Gale is a top bloke & with him on board the long term future of the club is secure.

As an older PTFC fan who attended games at ‘Our Stadium’ years ago I remember when we were told that Poole are changing colours to red and white halves. Being a Chelsea fan I bloody hate any kits that are red! I still have my Yellow and Blue scarf as well so for me it’s a no brainer, and if I’m honest if the black and gold kit is ok stick with it.

A fare point about black gold kit for away!!
But black gold being a local company what do they have to gain from showing off their name miles away from Poole?
Surely all their possible business would be from local folk at home.
A no brainer the club need the money a 3 year deal is paramount!! I wonder how much a year the injection is and how much of a significant change could it make.
Hopefully a big difference and with our big positive news within 6 months thing got to be on and upwards for the Dolphins.
One day if i win the lottery i would get back the original Blue and Yellow kit for home.
I dont usually get responses to my well thought messages but fingers crossed .lol COYDS

Surely the Club is more important than the colour of the strip they play in! That was the point of the questions I posed. If there is no investment does the club fold? Is it that black & white? To some history and tradition are more important than a short term gain so to them it isn't. Although as Dave pointed out how much history is there to Poole playing in red and white when we were in yellow not too long ago? And if you read the history of PTFC you'll find other colours occasionally as well. And didn't Weymouth play in Terra Cotta and Blue some time ago? Hence their nickname.

...so what this all boils down to is that we are all still waiting for the really BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! 1.We have the kit sorted so now lets get some players in to wear it 2.Where are we going to play? The Tatnam albatross has been pretty heavy around our necks for the past couple of seasons at least and we cannot progress until we find a permanent home that befits us .....and yes, just a thought. Stadia UK might be feeling the pinch with no dogs or speedway,,,just sayin!! That old supporters stand would look pretty good with a black and gold roof! COYD

COYD Expat, without wanting to get your hopes up too much I noticed this on the council leaders online Q&A session the other day. www.facebook.com/MyBCPCouncil/videos/1369942159871443/Starting at 22:10 she answers a question about regeneration in Poole which includes the words "Poole Stadium has a proposal around regeneration". 'Big' announcement?? Who knows???!!!

Thx WelshDolphin Incidentally I love Wales.my uncle drove the big 2-8-0 freight engines out of Severn Tunnel Jct. and Great Little Trains are without comparison! Could this be the time for the Stadium underground to come out of Covid quarantine? Never say Never!! COYD I will come over for game #1 at the 'new" BlackGold Poole Stadium even if have to wear 6 masks!! You are right of course and there will now be a flood of adverse comment from the usual quarters BUT,and i said this many years ago,a revitalised Stadium ties in very well with a revitalised Old Town and from what I read both need that treatment really badly!
Up THe Toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooown and never mind the kit!!

As posted on the website from Chris: " The Club can confirm that the consultation with supporters with regard to the potential Black Gold sponsorship and the change of the home strip has met with a resounding thumbs up with scores of positive responses and just a solitary lone voice expressing opposition.
A fantastic green light to the Board to pursue this opportunity which is exactly what the Board is now doing.
Watch this space "

The future is Black and Gold.
seriously we should paint the front of the Supporters Stand Roof at the Stadium BLACK AND GOLD and send a message to our future supporters! NEVER SAY NEVER and while we.re at it get some of the Bill at the Wimborne Rd nick to walk off their lunch time burgers with a tour through Poole Bus Station which according to reports is becoming a nomansland for elderly travellers! yes that means Brian and myself!

While we are worrying about Fan Surveys and Face coverings the Terras are getting the job done, where it counts,on the Field Weymouth 3 Dorking 2 which puts them into the Play-off Final ..and only a couple of seasons ago they were struggling in the Southern League..is there something in the water at Melcombe Regis or...........dare we say it darn good management an d a darn good Stadium

Would have had about 3k in today if permitted. Job done & on to the final next saturday. Never a critic of you guys, but you so need to get your ground issues sorted and create an environment the club deserves and enables it to progress.

Fair enough, but it was our first competitive game since March. All that mattered was the scoreline. And thanks for watching. Good luck for the new season, whenever that is.

Fact is bp PTFC have not won a significant playoff or Cup game in yonks!! We need to adopt some of that competitive spirit that has always typified the Terras. ..and it must start with a Stadium fit for a NL team representing the largest urban area in Dorset more postponements in winter 2021 will just about strangle this club.

I think winning the Southern League in 2015-16 was a pretty significant win. Although it was a Shield & a very big one at that! Still not a cup, so probably doesn't count by your logic. 🤔😉

Yes,we won the League. After promotion and then relegation we are still playing in that league. The Terras who finished 7th behind us are now knocking on the door of the NL proper. Which team is progressing??
