Spot on from Chris. Absolutely nothing the club to do. Any criticism should be aimed at two referees who spoke about the pitch & forecast.

Just read Chairman's statement very disappointed in that he mentions, No club official present at the time of the inspection this I struggle to understand given all the adverse publicity that surrounds the state of the pitch!!!!

Turn on the TV, half the country is floating away. Stop treating the club like half-wits by stating the bleedin obvious !.

Please!!!!!!
The reason why there was no Club Official at the inspection was because we had had dialogue with the inspecting referee who knew how anxious we were to play the game. He was totally aware of all the issues and I felt it appropriate to allow him to make the decision without any additional pressure.I wanted him to liaise with the match referee so that if the decision was to press ahead with the game that it was a decision made by experienced objective third parties and not the Club. That is what happened.

Although this embarrassingly meant that Hendon tweeted it was off 15 minutes before the club did!

We all know what the problems are. What we do not have are the solutions - yet. I am confident that Chris Reeves and the BOD are doing everything possible. They have the future of PTFC at heart, just as we do. Meanwhile, those of us who can manage it - and I realise that this won’t be an option for everyone - should consider another donation to the appeal which only got to 10% of its target. COYD

COYD People aren’t as likely to donate as the club aren’t doing anything back for the fans. If the club handled this situation differently then maybe people would. I still think everyone should stay positive but the club needs to show more appreciation of its fans especially over social media

I have read all the posts and I think if you read the post by BD I think he has it spot on. Last night was a complete joke I hope that Hendon don’t have a solicitor on their board as I think they would quite rightly demand that PTFC pay all their costs. You can’t just say it was the referees fault. I live 10 minuets from the ground and I knew it would not be on. The club gambled very badly to try and get the game on and chase some income. IF the referee at 1pm had been told that the pitch is completely unplayable after 15 minutes of rain, and then had been shown the various weather apps that are on everybody’s phone it was a no brainer. There was a running commentary on Twitter all afternoon, there was even satellite pictures from Weymouth fans showing the rain coming. The clubs gamble failed and a coach load of Hendon personnel were shafted. Is it any wonder the just giving page managed 10% of its total? I have watched PTFC since the stadium days and have never felt so embarrassed. ( Apart from how we were thrown out of the Stadium through terrible management )

I have seen it asked why the pitch inspection was so early? Simple Hendon were due to leave at 2.30. Pitch Inspection at 1.30 was that latest it could be to give Hendon a chance to stand down their players and officials. The weather forecasts at the moment are accurate, but cannot accurately predict the exact timing, duration or intensity of any rain. As a result, calling off the game prematurely was not an option. I am not certain but I suspect we would have been in trouble with Southern League had the match been postponed when the pitch had been declared fit for play. Of course we now know that there was a short sharp shower at teatime and that the game would have been played in heavy rain for the second half had it gone ahead. It may have been abandoned half way through, but we cannot be sure of that and certainly could not predict it at lunchtime.

blaming the weather is ludicrous. The whole issue is badly handled and always has been. Time the authorities kicked the club out of the league if they keep failing to fulfill fixtures. this ground should never have been the home of the club in the first place.
