I see that Poole Pirates have officially been put up for sale. Wonder how that might effect any futher plans for the stadium and its uses??? Personally I hope Poole Pirates survive. It would be an absolute disaster for the town if they folded. Right now they are the only regular national coverage the town gets. The problem with speedway is greater than our local team. I think it is time to link the British Speedway set up with European ones. Yes have the national competition, but adding an international dimension would certainly liven things up in the UK I also don't see them as rivals in terms of stadiums and who plays/races where. We should be working alongside them, to ensure that both sports have a viable future in the town. Obviously can't be at a shared stadium as the speedway track would put the football fans to far from the pitch. But I am sure presenting the new council with a united front, then that would strengthen both clubs case going forward.

I visit the Stadium once, perhaps twice, a year. My last visit found it in the same squalid state as on previous occasions. It would be wonderful for Poole Town F C to return “home” when (not ‘if’ by the way) we leave Tatnam but, if we ever do, we’ll need a millionaire.

When the speedway track was in its original location there was plenty of room for Speedway and football. Get those dogs out of there, move speedway over and put in a playing surface that is durable enough for sustained use. We need more out of Stadia UK than just the odd parking concession!

Brian. Do you remember the pride PTFC fans had when the supporters club financed and built the "NEW" stand? We were a non league club in the news!. and we can be again if all parties have the vision. Put the pride back in Poole, not forgetting that although it is leased Poole Stadium is still, owned by the (whatever its name is today) Council. I will be there for the first league match!! We have had good use out of Tatnam but it has its limitations!1 Get the Vision!!

I see that Poole Pirates have officially been put up for sale. Wonder how that might effect any futher plans for the stadium and its uses??? Pirates have been for sale for just under a year now - this is not 'new' news.... And no, personally returning to the current Stadium wouldn't be a great idea... Hated the gap between the stands and the pitch...

I think it is time to link the British Speedway set up with European ones. Yes have the national competition, but adding an international dimension would certainly liven things up in the UK ...... This was tried but failed disastrously Poole actually competed in the first year of staging (2014) when they raced against Zielona Gora (Poland) and Esbjerg (Denmark) and Piraterna Motal (Sweden) in the final One of the big issues concerning the success of such a competition is that, unlike many other sports, riders (competitors) are eligible to ride for more than one club in a season. In fact, when that meeting was eventually ridden (the scheduled staging in August having been rained off) in October the Poole side was Leon Madsen (a 2009 & 2010 Pirate), Grzegorz Walasek (2000-2002, 2006), Maciej Janowski (2013, 2014 and back in 2015), Przemyslaw Pawlicki (2013 & 2014) and Tomas H Jonasson (2011 and 2013). To conclude, "Poole" finished 2nd to Piraterna The following year Belle Vue, I seem to recall were due to represent the UK but the meeting was never re-arranged after it's postponement.

Poole v Piraterna is “pirates” versus “pirates” isn’t it peptalk?

I do, indeed, remember expat but I’m still not certain about watching footie from beyond a speedway circuit even though we did so quite happily in those days. You’re right about Tatnam though. Apart from it’s ‘limitations’, doesn’t our (PTFC’s) lease expire in a year or two?

From what was said at the fans forum & the supporters club agm, I am prepared to cut the BOD some slack. They are under the embargo of a confidentiality agreement. If what was said turns out to come to fruition, then some time in the 1st part of next year, plans will have to be made public. This is the process of obtaining planning permission can begin. So with regard to the stadium issue, I will wait. If nothing has been announced by the end of the season, then the that is really the time to ask why. Hopefully if the BOD need the fans help before then they only have to ask for it. And tell us how we can be off assistance. Once the plans are made public, no doubt all those, whether BOD, management, players or supporters will be needed. Because what ever & for where ever in Poole the plan is for, you can bet there will be those who will oppose it. Then we will need to pull together, even more than we are now, to convince the council to give us the planning permission we need.
