Richard Gillespie has left Poole Town Football Club and will be joining Dorchester Town FC. “Mr Goals” as he is affectionately known joined the club along with a number of other players, from AFC Totton some years ago and has been a great servant to the club as well as being a fan's favourite.
Manager Tom Killick said “I am very sad to see him go. He was frustrated at not getting the game time he felt he deserved. I couldn't give him any assurances that the current situation would change. I therefore gave him permission to talk to other clubs. He has reached an agreement to go to Dorchester.
He has been another brilliant player for this club. Whilst his appearances have been severely restricted by injury issues, when he has played he has proved what an exceptional player he is. Off the pitch he is a true gentleman. Articulate and honest and always conducts himself in an impeccable manner. Another player who was loved by his team mates. On behalf of the club I thank him for everything and wish him great success with Dorchester.”

Thanks for the goals and memories Richard. Again, another player I think we should of done more to try and keep. With Devlin now out for a long period it leaves us low on numbers. I know we can get loans in but they're always a temporary solution & as we've found out aren't always available to play!

One of the players about whom I had to explain to my missus what the chanting of "He scores when he wants … etc" was all about. Thanks Gilly.
