I know that I may well be shot down in flames here, but was anybody else dissapointed with last nights performance? I know that people will point to the fact that we drew with a good team from a higher division, however what frustrated me was the fact that we were 3-0 down from the first leg yet failed to have a single shot on goal in the whole of the 2nd half.
In my opinion there seemed to be very little urgency going forward, almost as if we were more pleased to say that we had drawn 0-0 with them, rather than go for goals and possibly risk conceding.

not fair--look at the chances we had in first half with the wind.Stuart on 2/3 occasions and Taffy came close, against wind 2nd half was bound to be harder but we still finished the game strongly

I agree with Poole fan. A little disappointed as I thought Poole would come out as our manager said "all guns blazing". We controlled the first half hour and you did have chances in the last 15 minutes of the first half and if you scored who knows!!! Second half was a non contest due to the first leg scoreline. Shame about your keeper, why couldn't the ref just give a yellow card and show a bit of common sense especially as it was in the 89th minute. It was a great shame about the wind as it ws plain to see from both games that both the teams play good attractive football. Good luck for the rest of the season and we will see you next year, you will definitely be ok and welcome in division one but the referees are no better...........................

I think we have to say that Thatcham are a very good team who play attractive football and the difference in league positions showed. It looked like Thatcham could have stepped up a gear if they had needed to. Good luck to them in the final. Poole played well over the two legs and couldn't be faulted for effort. We have though been struggling for striking options for the whole season and effectively played the first leg without a striker and in the second leg the unfortunate absence of Funnell made it difficult. We can now concentrate on getting a deserved promotion. We look mid table Wessex 1 at the moment but who knows what the addition of a good experienced striker would bring?
