Hi Ian, as a follow on to our chat prior to the match yesterday, here are the pics I promised you of my new aquisition. Taken from a car club forum - the arrival of a near 40 year old classic. My '72 Mach 1 arrives today on the back of a truck. The car is a non starter at the moment and has to be winched off the back of the truck. She's now outside my garage, the first job is to purchase a new battery, change the fluids & give her a major service and fire her up so we can move her under cover. Mach 1, meet your new friend - ZR-1 On closer inspection I've seen a few more niggles, although up on the truck I could see the underneath was weather sealed. But even that could be concealing a few demons. The interior looks good and in this pic you can see the blistered roof and hood, however not bad for a car nearly four decades old. Update - after a thorough inspection the car has been undersealed and Ziebarted and the chassis is in top condition. It hasn't been started for years as its been locked away so the first task is sorting the mechanics.

H Brian, Armsey. The car is a non mover at the moment due to being in storage for many years so It won't be roadworthy for a few weeks yet. Not so much a classic collector as a car lover, I love all cars especially American "muscle cars".
The Mustang was my first American car I bought. back in the 80s and with the euro now strong against the pound a lot of buyers are coming to the UK and buying up cars, hence the prices rising. I saw this car and jumped before the prices get out of reach, it will be subject of a back to original restoration and my own little pension fund as well as enjoyment.
The 1990 ZR-1 I've owned for 11 years and is a piece of automotive history, is a combo of American sports car and Lotus engineering, one of the original cars set 12 world records for a production vehicle.

Work has started in earnest with the cutting out of any rusty panels. stripping the rear suspension and cleaning the chassis and floors back to metal before protective coating and painting. I work approx 2-3 hours a day during the week on her. Rear panel cut out. Next measure and cut out old boot floor. Rear suspension and fuel tank all stripped out ready to work on. Thankfully it's only surface rust, different stages of derusting and cleaning. New parts starting to turn up from the USA.

That looks like a lot of work m3.
As far as a car show, sounds good. How many cars would we need?
Don't think Bikes would be any problem at all. Does anybody know the head Greaser ? ;D

Shouldn't be a problem slepe, there are a lot of Classic and American cars around Poole and Bournemouth area. The preperation is always the hardest part slepe, but once it's all cleaned up and the weather warms up the first coats of paint can go on. Life in my igloo lol, atleast the snow can't get in ;D
