I'm glad you opened this on the OT forum, slepe.
It seems some like poolelaglandst has got his lines crossed - on the one hand he stands on his soap box about "free speech", yet when I have my say he labels me as a "follower" and worries for the care of my family. He doesn't even know me and the every day leads I take in life for either street crime against the public and other issues I raise. Is it one rule for you PLS and another for others who don't agree with you?
I take no sides in whatever has happened with reference the burger bar staff as I know very little about it, nor do I want to concern myself with club politics. I can seperate what is for the open forum and what is a personal issue to the club. I also like to deal in fact and reality, something none of us can relate to with this instance, so why bother? Hence my remark "In the board we trust". If it really bothers you approach one of the directors in person, they are all very approachable.
Secondly slating our players is not comparable with the banter with opposition keepers, for a start they are not on the same side.
*Our* players play at a part-time level and because of the level they play at are not on the highest wages. They (the players and managerial staff) also do a day's work, then get time off and do another demanding shift on the pitch for us supporters. Some like Taffy even give up their free time to visit schools for club and community awareness. I can understand how Taffy feels when he puts in so much at the club and then gets told to "shut up taffy" by one of our fans, when he's playing and trying to lift the youngsters - then gets stick on the forum. But fair play to peterlep for apologising.
Answer me this -where are we going to find another "Taffy" to replace him when the time is right?
And what gives us the right to slate them if they get it wrong at times? surely encouragement is the best solution - no?
Sorry but I just feel, especially at this level, that anyone who slates a player from the safety of being behind the barrier, when a player is bound by the match rules and not able to stick up for himself and trying their best for us, is bang out of order.
TK, the managerial staff and players have worked wonders giving us win after win, week after week. Let's at least keep within the bounds of reality and give them our unfailing support back and not crack under one defeat!
