I notice that some memebers use their own pictures/photos on their profile as their avatar. How is that done?

Brian, the avatars have to be 'hosted' by say fotopic, or simular then they are available to be shown as an avatar. M3 hosts the piccies on the PTFC gallery so they can be used as an avatar.

I notice that some memebers use their own pictures/photos on their profile as their avatar. How is that done? We did 'dom's' recently and it turned out quite well. (look for dom on this forum)Firstly he downloaded a dolphin from a free clipart site and then 'photoshopped' it 'til he got what he wanted. We then uploaded it to tinypic as a jpeg and directed the PTFC site to pick it up from there. The only problem was that we saved it as a bitmap (.bmp) initially and it wouldn'y appear but once we changed it to the jpeg everything was OK. Give it a try Brian. You can always PM me if you get stuck Rob the Shirt (dom's grandpa)

MUST say thank you to m3dolphin, steve47 and robtheshirt for teaching me quite a lot about all this stuff and, of course, to Steve B without whom we'd all be stuck!
Starting from not knowing what a PM was I now have a gallery on fotopic!!!!!! And, as you can see, I can upload any avatar I like!!
So, it isn't true about old dogs!

So, it isn't true about old dogs! Erm maybe you need to re-word that Brian, or I fear a saucepan might be waiting around the corner for you
