I see there's a Circus on our new pitch. Looks like a big one, I haven't heard any moaning about parking cars and large crowds

I think the BRAG are appearing slepe but I'm not sure in what capacity. Ringmasters; Lion Tamers; Acrobats; Tightrope Walkers or Clowns? They're good at least two of these I believe!!!

Looks like a big one, I haven't heard any moaning about parking cars and large crowds I beleive they get up to 1500 people for these events, will be interesting to see how BRAG deal with that compared to us with 250/300, and what their arguement could possibly be to the planners then.

I trust that someone is keeping a record of events on Branksome Rec. - cricket nets, circuses etc. so we have it tohand when the time for the detailed planning appication comes .............

And thats two shows a day...............for two weeks? I haven't heard anybody complaining about inconvenience So presumabaly either there is no problems that justify voicing ...or....Cllr Eades likes the Circus ;D

The traffic is bad as usual with the circus, this is what it will be like if PTFC get planning permission, I would like to know what they would do if traffic was outside their houses instead of making fun of it. It would be interesting if there was an emergency.

It would be interesting if there was an emergency. We are not making fun of the traffic. Just seems strange that nobody seems to be in the press/media objecting to the circus. If you have read through our Forum recently, you will notice that a lot us would not be using cars to get to Branksome. If you had ever listened to what Mr Reeves had to say, you would know that part of the proposal involves appropriate measures to stop any route being blocked. Also, you may be aware that we have two players who are Firefighters, so we are well aware of emergency issues.

I have listened to Mr Reeves on several occasions and some of his comments do not match up. As you say about 250 supporters attend your matches, it would be interesting to hear how intend to maitain the stadium with so feww supporters, you do not generate enough income to support this stadium. #f it. "It would be interesting if there was an emergency"
Mevinglen, Taking off my supporters cap; I notice you keep bringing up the subject of "Emergency" and playing on H&S issues. I have driven those roads around BR and while they are not motorways they are not half as bad as some inner town or inner city roads where vehicles park both sides and you can barely get a vehicle the size of an emergency vehicle through. As on any road it is an offence to park a vehicle in a dangerous and obstructive manner and it would simply not be allowed to happen, hence no obstruction for Emergency vehicles.
As for the numbers not being enough to finance the upkeep of a stadium. It's a small football ground and nothing more, I would say we have a hard core of maybe 30 -50 supporters who give their time to "make things happen" and maintaining a football ground, while hard work, is something we are no strangers too. Please feel free to be my guest at Saturday's match if you wish, I am only too happy to cover your entrance fee, share a cuppa and show you around so you can see for yourself how everybody at the club operates.
