Is anybody connected with the Club planning on doing anything for Harry Paye Day? Would it be worth the Dolphin making an appearance? All polite suggestions/ideas welcome

Didn't Harry Paye play for the Town in the 50s?

;D ;D Jeeze Brian I thought I was the only one who remembered Harry "Puskas" Merritt... I don't think I ever saw him play without his knees bandaged up!! I do have A very nice Poole Pottery Display dish showing the ship of Arripay the Poole Pirate..matter of fact I think Harry Merritt was nearly that old when he turned out for the Town!! UP THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!

Gosh expat! You must be in the generation as me! And you're right about Harry's knees. And his longevity!
How much will you take for the dish expat?
Indeed we could sterte but I prefer 'Dolphins' and I expect most of us do.

So we could have been nicknamed The Pirates!? Name is best left to the riders on their throbbing machines on Wednesday nights! after all they did rob us of Poole stadium! Needless to say i'm enjoying their poor run of results I got asked why they hadn't done anything to improve our Stadium!! I responded that it was because there was no Poole Town FC there to do it.....

Good point steve, but I used to enjoy the speedway when I was a boy and when Ken Middleditch was riding!

Brian, I must confess I enjoy speedway too, but not the 'elite' league as this is far too money orientated, It has to be said Mr and Mrs 47 rather enjoy an afternoon at Weymouth on a Friday followed by an evenings entertainment by the 'National league' - 'Wildcats'!

Point taken steve. I suppose the 'Elite League' is their version of football's 'League of Greed' as I call it!
