A excellent all round team performance saw Poole easily criuse in to the semis of the Wessex League Cup.
Poole took the lead on 2 mins, Stu Brown's cross from the right side found Cully on the left, who delivered the perfect ball for Charlie to knock into the top right corner with his head. The home sides defence looked a shambles and Poole took full advantage with Browner doubling the lead on 11 mins with a header from a corner.
On 20 mins Jason had his first bit of action when he had to punch a ball away and then 4 mins later from a corner Poole cleared off the line. Poole made it 3-0 on 40 mins, Charlies' excellent ball put Browner through, he took it round the keeper to slot it home HT 0-3
Poole started the second half, playing at ease and I was hoping Wimborne might try to make a game of it, but seemed to want to stay in their half ! Pooles' fourth came after 61 mins with Bronwer lobbing the keeper from 10 yards out. Wimborne had their best spell of the game in the last 5 mins, but on a break away Poole were unlucky not to make 5, when Preston hit the post after a fine run by Smith.
Harvill, Poore, Browne, Dibba, Whitley , Richardson, Gill, Skelton (Preston 45 ), Brown (smith 68), Austin, Culliford (Hubbard 72)
unused subs Sturgess, Bailey-Pearce
Att 405

Got down for the second half - game already over by then. Poole looked very comfortable. Wimborne were very disappointing. There was more entertainment from the "little kids army" who joined the Poole fans behind their own goal. I suppose there is nowhere else for them to go on a wet Tuesday evening! Should really have been 5 or 6 as Steve Smith blocked a goal bound effort! and Carl Preston smacked the post. Carl did a fanttastic run through the Wimborne players before being taken out - but the ref bottled giving a penalty. With Culli, Broners & Charlie up front Poole look very strong - can anyone stop us from the treble now!??

Poole were awesome in the first half - it was men against boys. Pyschologically superior, powerful, aggressive, & full of energy - what more can you ask for? The most impressive Poole performance I've seen, that's for sure. I think Wimborne would have been quite happy not to come out for the second half - their body language spoke volumes! :-) They played like a bunch of nimby's.

Great report on a great night ashsec. Thanks. The treble is well and truly on peterlep. Must repeat I cannot man the keyboard on Saturday and I don't think sterte is available so we'll likely need a new reporter.

I thought that some of the Branksome NIMBYs were there last night. Weren't they the ones singing "We hate Poole Town" ?

Just woke up after a very long shift yesterday, what a quality result. :-) Hope Mr Cann and the Iscariot brothers are now choking on their silver.

Excellent game, first half especially, as we took them apart. Good to see the youngster 'Browner' ;D get a hat-trick against the ex Luton and AFCB keeper, Ovendale - the first was a neat little header at the near post, but how on earth did Stuart score his second from such an acute angle, after dragging the keeper out wide - the third a clever chip that the keeper got a slight touch on but couldn't prevent the ball reaching the net. Skelts, I thought was like a man possessed in the first half and Taff was verbally, unusually quiet, and just put his head down and got stuck in. Faultless effort from everyone else as they all WORKED FOR EACH OTHER - excellent work rate lads, if you can keep that up it will be difficult for other teams to match us. Good support from the traveling 'Red Berets' again and although small in numbers the choir still let out a few chants to help back the team, we badly missed the midfield duet of sterte and slepe but 'oak trees from little acorns' and all that. Does it only rain in San Fran Wimborne ? further up the M27 it was dry as a bone. Onwards to Bemerton!!

Agree with all.
We went to Wimborne last night, and imposed all aspects of our game on them, regardless of being the away side. Suffice to say, it worked a treat in all areas of the park. It left Wimborne looking as they did not believe they could compete with us, in any department.
Iām sure however, we are in for 2 very tough games in the DSC semi, and the home league game. But as has been said, with the all-round attitude and application of last night we are looking good ā but we must keep working hard.
You can spend the money, and bring in all the supposed big names you like, but that certain mix and balance within a side which all types of players bring to the table is priceless ā Tom seems to have it cracked at present.
We have a squad in which we can be very proud ā long may it continue.

It took a while to surface from that debacle hubster, but fair play to you chaps it was a stonking performance without doubt and a fine demonstration of what our reserve team have developed into (titter). I did enjoy PTFC thoughand I dont think I have seen anyone mention that you are streets ahead on the Tony Kempster non-league form guide of all the clubs in England.
Bloody fine show chaps and I think my wee one (who couldn't watch the second half) will be wanting to go and see some more of you guys.
Ohh and one more thing, don't you chaps buy any of the 50-50 draw tickets? The chap selling them said that he only sold 2 to you lot?
Well done again and I enjoyed meeting some of you.

TC - Not true about the 50-50. I bought 2, as did m3 and the two guys I brought with me. The bloke selling them even told us a guy from Brock won the other day. It seems they could not tell who the Poole fans were, even though we were the ones wearing the red hats and scarves. There were about 404 of us there on Tuesday night.

Mind you I didn't hear the winning ticket number shouted out.......... we had to ask after the match! Look forward to our next encounter! COYD

Ohh and of course the counting gene is only held by one of us at WTFC and he is usually hid in a cubby hole counting the wages, no beans for that performance! Can't expect a Maggie with a bucket to know how to count, you posh lads by the sea have all the evolutionary edge than us over the hill?
