Brian - Assuming the pitch is playable then I will be calling you with Sterte potentially taking over later. I have your Mobile number and will make contact with you in the afternoon to ensure all is working OK.
Here's hoping we will be keeping you busy!

Final score: Poole 4 Brading 1
We're 16 points clear at the top of the league!! as dorsetyellow said, "they have a mountain to climb!" No prizes for who "they" are.
Brilliant in the end if not quite as much as some of us optimists hoped for.
COME ON POOLE!!!

Thanks for being the other end of the line Brian. You did have my number, that's why I sent you a text earlier in the day, plus I had called with the team lineup. Technology hey!
Was not much to talk about in the first half. Goalie had a good one. Said he started out on loan for Oxford preseason, but got injured. A few PTFC chances, we had more of the play.
Second half we came out of the blocks running. Looked much better. Their goal was against the run of play. For the equaliser it looked as though the keeper had both hands on the ball, but was bundled over the line by about 3 of his own defenders, who then had a go at him. There was no looking back after that.
Another 3 points in a game where the opposition lifted their game and gave it their all. As Taffy said before any goals were scored - they were putting 11 men behind the ball. Heads did not drop when we went 0-1 down. We got the result and are 16 points clear. There was even some singing.......well chanting. Great night in the end.
Apologies for absence on Saturday, on BSP duty. Hopefully m3 and sterte will keep you entertained.
See you all in Wimborne.

Thanks dy for your commentray from the game - even when you wound me up by sounding as though bad news was coming!!! Incidentally, when the game kicked off there were about 5 viewing, this fell to 2 at one point but rose to 18 by the end. So, the match live thread must be appreciated.

Glad to be providing a service. I know that the person that introduced me to Poole Town was following the thread in the background whilst away on business in Manchester. He is one of those Guests that are always there in the background.........so come on TractorBoy........you know who you are........get posting on here..........and don't forget to keep me informed of the score on Saturday.
MatchLive coming to you via m3 and sterte ............. hopefully on Sat.
Any volunteers for Tuesday at Wimborne yet? I fancy getting into this game and would not mind having the night off. Perhaps someone who has not done this yet, might step up and offer their services to the nation/world (not forgetting expat).

I see you found your answer on the other thread. I seem to recall that Sterte might have a slight doubt, but we will cross that bridge at the time if necessary.
BTW - This post comes to you via the wonders of technolgy from the Little Chef at Popham, just down the road from you. Not sure if you saw the show ......... but Heston has done a great job. If they roll this out across the chain (and they would have to be crazy not to) they will be onto a winner. Ambiance, food and service great. Could be a blessing for the travelling fans..........and some of the players!

I'm not a million miles from Popham and heard of his involvement, he's also got a restaurant not far from me on the outskirts of Reading. Always wanted to try the egg & bacon ice cream

The Fat Duck would cost you £125 a head for a 25 course meal and a waiting list of weeks to get a reservation. Popham is about £12.50 a head and walk in. I suggest you start with Popham.

Used a Little Thief a few weeks ago, the Olympic was lovely and the staff very good. Just the prices were very high. We used to live in Burghfield outside of Reading, my wife went to The Fat Duck a few times, overrated and overpriced she reckoned. The Cunning Man near Southcote, right on The Avon and Kennet Canal was very good.
