How realistic is it to have live pictures streaming to your PC ? This may be a solution but I think it would be good to have a discussion on its possibilities. I think the live match thread is working really well and it is obvious that we have enthusiastic volunteers providing it and plenty of avid fans tuning in. My idea is this. Set up a digital camera on a tripod "behind the goal" as most cameras now have video and sound. This in turn could be linked to a laptop and streamed using peer to peer software or something like a video conferencing application. With mobile broadband now, I can see this as being achievable, all we need is a little technical know how and some enthusiasm. I think it is possible, maybe not every week or mid-week but certainly on days when the winners trophy is paraded before the last home game or to reduce the errors of red cards to yellows.

;DVery interesting proposition seldown, I do think tho it would be a very costly experiment, with plenty of technical issues to be overcome. I have plenty of enthusiasm for such a project myself, but tbh would not know where to start
I'm not too sure mobile broadband would be suitable as the bandwidth required to upload vast quantities of video content is probably beyond most consumer connections with the FUP's currently employed by the UK providers. Also I'm not too sure the upload speed on a mobile connection could actually cope with real time streaming So basically I think you would need a fixed SDSL connection before you even start, say 2meg down and 2 meg up and believe me those aren't cheap, probably in the region of £100 pm, that's even if the exchange nearest the ground(and I can't check as I don't know the clubs postcode and phone number) is enabled for SDSL

It's a fantastic idea, but I agree with st, the cost at the moment would be astronomical. As some of you know, i'm an RAF Air Trafficker who works at NATS Swanwick, so know a fair amount about "live" technology. It is do-able, but think we'll have to wait for costs to come down. Hopefully we can start video filming games as soon as my wrist is fixed.

Don't you think the fact that we are talking about the possibility of this LMS makes it just a matter of time.
A Dream.........but without such vision luddites would rule the world.
