After Alresford went one down and lost a player, we thought that the floodgates would open, but they played out of their skins for the rest of the game. It seems that every game is summed up by us having lots of chances and the opposition keeper/ defence having blinders. I think that we are seen as needing to be knocked off our pedestal and that every team will be dying to end our unbeaten run. What does everybody think?

;DI think that's what's called football. Someone has to be top and it's up to the rest of the league to dispose the top side
However I do do think it's between us and VT and the important game is at their place

Don't wish to appear negative, but I would take a draw at their place.
That will leave us 4 pts clear. Keep our noses clean and beat them when they come here late in the season to win the title.

Quite right sterte, Alresford taking just one point from the last six games but on saturday they played out of their skins, particularly when they were down to 10 men.

Yes, I agree sterte, stfc and slepe. Not sure about the draw with VT though dorsetyellow. I suppose a draw would be enough but I'm making a special trip down for the VT away match and if I'm coming 300+ miles in each direction in 2 days I hope the lads can pull off a win! We have to beat Brading and Fareham first though and that's not easy. COYD!!!

But we do know a lot more about them, especially that ickle winger. Brian, let me know what time you plan on getting there and will meet you, as i work nearby, if you're getting the train up could get you. COYD

Thanks sterte, that's a very kind thought and typical of a PTFC fan but I'm getting a train from Lancaster to Bursledon (where I'm overnighting not far from the ground) via London and Soton Central. So see you there. And m3 and others I hope. I'm easy to recognise - an old, bald, bearded man wearing a PTFC beanie hat and probably a yellow jacket. Where is m3 by the way? He's not been on site these last few days.

I work up the hill from Bursledon station, at NATS Swanwick, so it's no trouble to pick you up on the way through if you want. m3 is making the most of his work whilst he can. I know he didn't finish til late on Saturday morning.

sterte, you are too kind! Actually, I'm over-nighting at a place called The Crow's Nest, Oak Hill, which is just a few yards from Bursledon railway station and I arrive about tea time (assuming the trains are on time!!!!) so maybe you could pick me up there. If that's okay just say what time and I'll be ready.
I'm pleased to hear I'm not the only old git dorsetyellow - thanks.

In these PC days, how about "Gentlemen with plenty of Life Experience, which has left them in a non-threatening but unhappy state of mind(which can be solved by counselling) who are horologically challenged?

Treated by a trickcyclist maybe :-) Where I work is soo PC it's unreal, Labour Govt and a strong union for you. It's nice to have a little humour, as us military types are muzzled here. Brian, where you're staying is a ten minute walk up the hill from the station. Apparently is very nice, good food. Don't know about the beer though!

I didn't mean you needed a trickcyclist sterte but you'll know better than me. Thanks very much for getting the info on The Crow's Nest, the person I spoke to seemed very nice and helpful so I'm really looking forward to it. Just need to beat Fareham on Saturday and VT to drop points at Moneyfields to set up a good game on Tuesday. Hope the weather is kind(er) and see you there for an early Christmas present. Don't forget to let me know if you can pick me up at The Crows Nest and what time. Ta!
