The scoreline doesn't really tell the story.
In the first half Poole played some fantastic football - only yet more good keeping and the ball not falling right for our strikers prevented many more goals. The penalty (of course scored by Charlie) on 27 minutes led to their defender being sent off - so we all expected the floodgates to open. Unfortunately not.
In the second half it seemed like a diffferent team. Tommy was quite irate after about 10 minutes as we seemed to have gone to sleep. This seemed to do the trick as soon after Charlie played Steve Smith through for a nicely taken goal. This was followed by a storming Stuart Brown run setting Charlie up for number 3. After that Poole seemed to lose there way again. Alresford managed to get a consolation goal and almost looked the better side for the last quarter of an hour. So credit for their 10 men to keep going.
So not the goal fest we all predicted but one excellent half followed by one mediocre half I felt. Special mention to Taffy who I thought had a fantastic game. Good to see Jason back in goal.
Tricky times ahead with 5 away games to the end of the year (including VT).

;DAnother enjoyable game where the opposition keeper was at the top of his game. Shame they had a player sent off which tbh was accidental I thought, he was the last man so he had to go, although I would have sent him off just for his verbal assault on poor old sterte who admittedly did provoke him lol. Shame on you no 2 but I did chuckle
I do hope Arlesford move up the table as their performance implies they can do better than their positon suggests
I'm gutted that we have no home games over Xmas, would have been great to get some footie in

Believe you me, have had a lot worse insults on the parade square than some chap from Chavshire could ever throw :-) If Alresford spent more time concentrating on their game than moaning that the world's against them, they have some useful players, they'd be a least mid table.

Sterte - Were you verbally abusing opposition players? You know we don't condone that at PTFC....................we positively encourage it!
Good to meet you and STFC today. See you on the road somewhere.

Will be at VT, as I work about four miles from there. I can not make the VT replay. Shame as I enjoyed the last visit, despite the rain and the fact that the game was not finished. Am hoping that some kind sole will SMS the result to me as I may not have internet access and will be at 6's and 7's that night. I plan to go to Fareham this weekend , but will not make the trip to the IOW. I have the small matter of a fixture in Weymouth on Tuesday night. You will work that one out.

Not difficult dorsetyellow, it must be Weymouth v the U's or is it the O's? See you at VT sterte! It's crucial against VT (also that we don't slip up at Brading & Fareham of course) so I'mm making a special trip down for the VT game. I hope m3 (and El Flago) will be keeping up his quest to get to all games and that some of the others will be there too. COYD!

I think the O's are Orient and they have not yet stooped to Weymouths level, unlike the U's. However, I would be glad if they did. Their victory on the last day of the season a couple of years ago at the Kassam, secured them promotion and relegation for the U's. A black day indeed.
PS - Very impressed with your dedication from so far away. Not sure there can be that many exiled fans that would travel so far to see a non league team at this level. Loyalty indeed.

Thank you dorsetyellow. I believe the U's are to have a new manager soon. Good luck at Weymouth. As for my loyalty, it's no more than many others who go week after week albeit from not so far away. I actually thinik that Step 5 is THE most difficult to get promoted from - 14 leagues feeding six, only 1 team certain of promotion (subject to ground grading) and no play-offs! That's what makes it SO important for the Town.
