The result was really not a fair reflection - should have been nearer 6 or 7 to Poole. Poole dominated the game for the vast majority of the match.
The flavour was set early on - with dominant pressure leading to Lamin crashing the ball against the bar - a chance Charlie would certainly have tucked away.
I think it was Gilly who was denied twice in quick succession - good saves by their keeper. Soon after Stuart Brown broke through for what we all thought was a certain goal - but another fantastic save denied him.
It was hard to believe it was 0-0 at half time given the amount of chances Poole created.
The spell was broken 2 minutes in to the second half when the ball was put through to Charlie. 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper we should never doubt him - and he tucked the ball away nicely. It was nearly all Poole in the second half - although New Milton forced 1 good save from our veteran stand-in goalkeeper.
The match was settled by a fantastic strike from Charlie who was in great form.
With the final corner of the match it looked like number 3 - but the ball was cleared by a defender - summing up how many chances just did not fall Poole's way.
A very strong performance by the team. Good to see Gilly recovered from a nasty challenge which we all thought merited a red card.

;DEntertaining game I thought, their keeper was outstanding in the first half and pretty competant all the way through. He didn't have much of a chance with either goal
Poor old Kevin Leonard(minus hair and moustache) didn't have a whole lot to do, hope he had thermal socks like me
M3 didn't get the flag out for the second half and we scored two, well taken goals by Charlie, who tbh was unlucky not to get a hat-trick
Lamin nearly shattered the crossbar in the first half from two yards out
My MOM goes to Gilly who got stuck into em through out. Keep at em Gilly
Stopped off at Tesco in Branksome on the way home and got two boxes of 18 Becks for twelve quid. A good end to a good afternoon, now to start on em
PS A special thank you to the ladies in the snack bar, the double cheese made a really nice breakfast. I know I shouldn't but..............

thank you peterlep for the very good match report. I see that Wimborne lost, Brockenhurst lost. VTFC keep winning...Are Christchurch the dark horses ?,13 goals in two games!! Someone was talking about attendance here..I remember a crowd of 7,000+ the year we drew with Weymouth at home in the 4th Qual Rd..and I was lucky enough to be at Weymouth to see us surprisingly down the mighty Terras on thir home ground.Weymouth over the Southern and Western league years were always the team that we could not beat. UP THE TOWN Southern league next season!!!

Well spotted stfc, I got back from the tea bar late and missed the first goal and got too engrossed to fly the flag. I thought we raised our game in the second half well to get the break through needed. The second goal was a cracker. Although we had a hat-full of chances in the first 45 minutes, you can see why NM have only conceded 5 goals on their travels. The NM keeper was very good and at times they got a lot of men behind the ball to defend. Well Done Lads, onwards to Hamworthy.

Thanks for the match reports. Hope to be back at Tatnam for next Saturday. Good to see Charlie on target. Was in Plymouth today on family visits, lot of very unhappy friends of mine. They think we're very lucky to be able to go and enjoy watching our team at a very reasonable price. Think League Clubs and players really have to realise it's the working man's game and very soon COYD

Thanks everyone. Got the result on Saturday evening thanks to you lot! Hear, hear sterte - it is a 'working man's' game - or ought to be again - and working woman's of course. "Working class game"? "Hard working families' game"?

The only thing I will say about New Milton's goal keeper is that I think he needs glasses, I only saw him once put the ball inside the white line when doing a goal kick, I am going to suggest to Chris that he either paints the lines really thick there or gets some glow paint, hopefully this will help blind goal keepers.
