I agree with you slepe and I've said it before. A reserve team brings on the youngsters and keeps fringe players busy. I hear it's a possibility for 2009-2010.

Have always said we need reserves, almost every other team seems to manage to get a reserve team out. Something we MUST have even if they played in a local Dorset league. I'll chuck this one in as well, my Choice for Manager Darren Reeks.

there is a poole team competing in the Dorset Premier......perhaps its time to bury some of these old animosities and look to the greater good of non league football in Poole...just a thought, it is not unusual in North American Sport for "reserve" teams to play under a different name and to be virtually self governing however when the mother ship calls....those chosen have to go!!

I believe we have to trust the Board on this one.

I believe we have to trust the Board on this one. I couldn't agree more sterte............they are doing an excellent job, the club as moved on and the feeling of high expectations is spreading like a bush fire My thoughts are only for this team to get what they truly deserve, for them to miss out on some silverware this season would be a travesty. COYD.

Agreed slepe and sterte but expat has a point too. Someone suggested a 'feeder' club on another posting and I suggested Poole Borough too and as expat says we "bury some of these old animosities" (or Holt Utd - we used to share with them - or some other local side). Then when we move to Branksome PB move to Tatnam.

Incidentally Poole Borough are top of the Dorset Prem. Well done the Hornets!

the issues with a reserve side are huge-the greatest need is for people to do the off field stuff-the benefits of a reserve side are obvious but if you dont have the off field team who are dedicated to the reserves and not desperate to always travel with the 1st team then it can be a disaster as has been our experience in the past-then 1st teamers dont want to know and the whole point of having the side falls apart that said i am hopeful that there maybe people who can give the board the confidence to have another go--we do want a reserve side but on the right basis-watch this space!
