A convincing win tonight for The Dolphins at a cold ,sometimes wet Days Park , in front of about 80 hardy souls . Poole notched up 4 goals in the first half , the pick of the bunch being a well-executed lob from the edge of the box by an in industrious Steve Smith. Poole were always well on top against a committed but inferior opposition , who, despite recent good form in their League , hardly tested the Dolphins keeper throughout. the Dolphins could have added many more in the 2nd 45 minutes , but settled for a solitary addition , possibly due to the fact that Tommy was unable to resort to his usual choice of language to encourage them , as his mum was sat 5 yards behind the dugout.

Nice report, ta very much. My son, just back from Cuthbury, said that the word on the Wimborne terraces was that Poole had scored 4 in the last ten minutes, and it had been 0-0 til then. The mis-informed sod.

Not sure - think they won 5 nil as well, but I was trying to show disinterest.

Another excellent result. Even if the oppostion may have been weak, yet more confidence. Roll on Saturday. COYD

Yes they didn't test Simon Browne in goal all night! Good old Browner! A last minute addition in goal me thinks due to Jase not being able to go in goal

Another entertaining game with Sturgess in for Taff and Leo and Smithy up front. Gilly opened the scoring after some good passing movement and Smithy's lob and well taken penalty put the game out of reach. Good to see Lamin get on the score sheet, but I was so cold I can't remember who else scored I thought the new youngster, Shaun Bailey ? showed some good touches and at one point got in a cross from what looked like an impossible position. I returned home in the middle of a blizzard around midnight but again the football was well worth it. Onwards to VT.

Yes, it was a convincing win against a game team that were clearly a league or two below us but did their best. Good luck to the Swans! I'm happy to say that I was there with my travelling hordes from Lancaster & Morecambe (5) one of whom acted as unofficial 'ball boy' in the first half whilst his dad got so excited he stripped to the waist during the second half - well, it is warmer in Dorset if only a bit!
