If (or should i say when !) come the new year & we're still in a promotion place, are we gonna apply for it ? Could the board inform us if we have a plan ,cos with every thing being equal, Branksome wont be ready at least for 2 years !

You've got to go for it.........if you don't there would be no motivation for the club.

Hear hear slepe! The worst scenario of all would be to win the league and not be able to go up!!

We have now played exactly one third of our games for the 2008-2009 season.
We are one point behind the leaders with 3 games in hand; level on points with the third placed club with 2 games in hand; one point ahead of the fourth placed club with 1 game in hand; and 12 points ahead of the fifth placed club having played the same number of games!
This is getting serious!

To get to this stage only dropping 2 points is a fantastic acheivement, Brian, and even eclipses last seasons performance at the same stage. However it was never going to be easy, I think we saw in the abandoned second half how good VT can be. There will obviously be loads of other factors, injuries, suspensions and 'form' of teams like Brock or Fareham who might mount a charge later in the season. One thing they can't beat us on is our support and being able to make away games look like home games Friday nights game Brock v VTFC is going to be very interesting.

Just shows how much we need to get behind the team. They are doing the club proud. A draw would be good on friday. COYD

Good morning m3. I'm pleased to see that I'm not the only one with not much to do on a Tuesday morning!
Absolutely right. Friday will, indeed, be interesting.
Also, the question raised by parky at the start of this post is the key issue for us and I trust sterte is right too.

Don't know about that Brian, I've got plenty to do, I've just been tax, insuring and servicing my new runaround. Just time to stop for a cuppa and a biscuit to catch up on car and footy gossip with freinds Too right Sterte, getting back to Parky's point, it's probably going to need a big push by club and supporters to get us to the next level. Not unlike the supporters of years ago, who, I was told built the main stand at the old stadium.

Those who live in the Sterte area will be getting fixture lists through their doors today. Hope it works :-) m3, you must be one of these eccentric miilionaires i hear about. Taxing and insuring on the same day!!!!! Promotion is essential for the Club, it strengthens the Branksome case, gets us more media exposure. Apart from "money-bags" m3 :-), think we supporters have to help the board as much as we can in other ways. Clubs like Histon show what can be achieved by a very small club with a dream. The possiblities for the Dolphins are endless, and i for one want to help that happen. COYD.

Hang on sterte, m3 rides a bike (like me) AND rides to games AND gets wet doing it!! He can't be that rich can he? Incidentally, you may be interested to know that I flew down for the last match - Manchester to Southampton. Actually it was less than the rail fare!
You're absolutely right though; promotion IS essential and Step 5 is the hardest to get out of because ther are no play offs and because of ground grading. It's good of you to distribute fixture lists and it would be interesting to see if it makes a noticeable difference.

Brian, when i served overseas(including Norfolk) and in NI, i used to fly to all sorts of places to watch Argyle. It was always cheaper. Argyle and a few fans fly to a lot of games. Tragic really, use to enjoy a few beers and a leg stretch on the train. m3 only cycles sometimes. Think he's trying to rival Beaulieu for car collections! The sooner we get up the ladder, the more notice people around Poole will sit up and take notice. Think "Resurgam" would be a good Club motto.

I'm quite fond of Plymouth Argyle sterte and I'd like them to do well. In fact I'm quite sympathetic to most "small town" clubs who have to struggle with the increasing dominance of rich clubs owned by egoistic billionaires, so good luck to the Argyle!
I also agree about the motto but maybe "ut resurgam".
And yes, "the sooner we get up the ladder" the better. Step 5 has to be the trickiest level to get out of!
I see wimborne only got a draw yesterday. That helps us and I guess a draw on Friday or a win for Brock would be a little more help as well.

Bewlea BuleyBeaulieu, I'm having trouble spelling it let alone competing with them ;D I enjoy the train and relaxing followed by a cycle but I've Been busy preparing and servicing my new runaround so I don't get soaked through again, like at VT.
