What a difference from last week - wet weather, much smaller crowd & a convincing win as we all predicted!
Neither side really got it together for the first quarter of an hour. With Billy still not available Poole put Luke on the right wing with Gilly on the left. This did not really work so they soon switched over and got the dividends. A smart ball through from Charlie, Gilly put in a deep cross and an excellent diving header from Luke for the first goal.
Romsey never really threatened - their only player of note was no 11 who ran at players and forced a good save from Jason.
You could see Tommy wasn't happen and as usual gave the desired effect in the second half. Smith on for Stuart Brown probably had more to do with the yellow Browners got and the high likelihood he would have had a red had he stayed on for the second half.
Poole started to play more like the team of the early games of the season in the second half. More passing around and keeping the ball in the opposition half. This paid off with a free kick which led to another Micky spectacular - skidded, bounced, eluded everyone and straight in to the net.
Gilly got number 3 - an excellent goal. Charlie was subbed and looked very disappointed. However I believe he had a good game and I am sure will score again soon.
Steve Smith, having missed a good chance earlier, got number 4 close to the end.
Another solid performance. Lamin, as usual, was awesome at the back. I think the scoreline was possibly slightly flattering to Poole but definitely a deserved win.
