Wimborne took lead on 33 minutes through Dave Town. Poole equalised through Kevin Gill on 44 minutes. Half time: 1-1 Wimborne got penalty on 53 - converted by Roast. Poole equalised again through a Mickey Hubbard freekick on 74.
Chances for both sides in dying minutes - Wimborne hit bar and Steve Smith had great chance for Poole.
Fair result. And a good one!

Perhaps it was a cup hangover or the weather but I thought this was probably the poorest we played all season, it seemed like we couldn't string a pass together - And they still couldn't beat us, ha. What a cracking free kick for our second Let's get back to business on Saturday. COYD.

Lets just say fair results, i think the spectacle of the game will go down longer in the memories for those that went to Cuthbury last night.

A good old-fashioned football night, but a fairly poor game. The wind & zippy pitch didn't help, but Pooles passing was poor, and I think we were just grateful to get a point at the end.

well I missed the first 15 minutes, as I did not finish work till late. There where a couple of very dodgy tackles, Charlie came of worse from the goal keeper, who punched him in the head, it was not a nice sight to see him laying there not moving, and we did not even get anything from it. I hope some one complaines about the ref as he was just a muppet. Gilly getting bundled was funny, and Micky's goal was great and just when we needed it. Well done to our supporters who ignored the idiot fans from Wimborne. it's a shame that the Wimborne stewards seem unable to control their supporters, no wonder this club has such a bad name.

A 'satisfactory' result but a number of people have commented that we didn't pay well against Frome or against Wimborne last night. That's two poor games in succesion. So what's gone wrong and can it be put right?

Could disagree more about the Ref - thought he was superb, the best I've seen for a long time at all levels. He was a throwback - let tackles be made, wasn't whistle happy, didn't just give fouls because people got hurt. Football as it should be. Charlie was hurt in a fair challenge in my opinion. 10/10 for me.

Definitely happy to come away with a point on a wet , windy evening where we really didn't play much of the fluent football we're capable of - i feel we missed the option of Billy Pearce , who gives opposing defenders a lot to think about , and without him , there's a tendency to resort to the long ball , and on a such a windy night as that , the accuracy of these is always going to be poor , and poor old Charlie Austin was becoming increasingly frustrated by the quality of service to him. Considering this , he battled on manfully , giving 100% for 90 minutes , and surely more goals will be along soon . I think the main positive to be taken from this game is that we haven't performed to anything like our best , on a pitch that in parts of the Netherlands would be considered as a ski-slope , yet the "highly-rated" Magpies still couldn't beat us . As for their annoying little Chav "fans", it might be worth bearing them in mind if our club ever considers allowing kids in for free- do we want a similar following at the Tatnam , or shall we continue to enjoy our football in an atmoshere of mature , contemplative , sophisticated ,reflective appreciation. (Oh yeah , and Gareth.)

I was side on for Alan Walker-Harris's "foul" on Charlie and think that was just an accident as the keeper tried to punch the ball. None of the Poole players complained which I think was telling. I also thought the referee had a very good game - as he has always seemed to do when he has reffed us in the past. I'd take him every week.
Thanks, Swanage Dolphin, for the Gareth gag - perfect comic timing!

My work is to spread the word of Poole Town to the yet unconverted -- I shall be starting with your Magpie of a son.

Hmmm - I wouldn't say we've played 'poor' in either of the last two games. Certainly against Frome we didn't play as well as we could but that was a combination of not quite firing on all cylinders and also the fact that Frome closed us down very well and didn't allow our football to flow. Last night - lets not forget - away to pre season favourites to win the league. Tricky conditions. Yes - it wasn't a great game although I do think it was a decent game of football. I think we did play too many long balls (especially first half with wind behind) but we more than deserved the draw. With Wimborne so far behind us they HAD to win last night - we didn't. Even if Wimborne win every game from now on we have to lose 3 or 4 for them to catch us. Will we lose 3 or 4 all season?? Maybe, maybe not. In theory Wimborne could win all their games (they wont) and STILL not catch us. So I'm well happy to take the point last night.
Biggest plus - twice we went behind and twice we came back strong. Shows determination and great team spirit.
And I thought the ref was very good too. Never an easy encounter to take charge off (especially in those conditions) and he did an excellent job.

I spent the 1st half fairly near our own goal and just along from me (near the corner flag) were a bunch of lads singing and chanting for Poole and responding well against the Wimborne chanting from behind our goal. Created a great first half atmosphere. I don't know who they were, but why are'nt they singing and chanting at our home games? Don't know where they went in the 2nd half, as I did not hear them again - there again, I had moved behind the Wimborne goal and may be they were still near our goal?
I thought we were lucky to get a draw, with too many long balls on a skiddy surface, and some poor passing. But the goal from the free-kick was amazing. The ball appeared to be well wide of the mark and I think their keeper did too!

or shall we continue to enjoy our football in an atmoshere of mature , contemplative , sophisticated ,reflective appreciation. (Oh yeah , and Gareth.) It's almost a year now since I've been watching Poole and the banter and relaxed, whilst passionate support is a major factor why I'm enjoying my football once again - It's a good place to be. Although my son's a bit of a rugby fan I hope to get him along to the odd game in the near future.

Absolutely m3. Surely one of the reasons we follow PTFC, apart from our passion for 'The Town', is becuase we do not want the nastiness and foul language etc that often goes with league football.

Tylo, I was one of the guys singing for Poole. We thought we'd give the lads some support as the Wimborne fans were. Hope you don't mind some 'part-timers' as it were! Poole are all of our 2nd team, it's just a shame we can't watch more often.
Unfortunately, due to AFCB commitments, I am unable to make most games.
Really enjoyed last night, Poole fans are a great bunch. All very welcoming and friendly.

I've only started going regularly to Tatnam after a lifetime following proffessional corruption/football. I'm with m3,Poole Town and it's people are a club to be proud of and where I will watch my football til the reaper comes. COYD

In the first half we were to the side section undercover.
Second half behind the goal with a roof with the other Poole Town fans, I'll admit we were less noisy, and only sang the odd "Come on Poole Town" in the 2nd half. I think we were worried you wouldn't all join in with us. *goes red*.
As I said, I hope you don't mind us trying to sing for the lads, even if we are not loyal supporters like yourselves. We're gonna try do a few other Dolphins away games, would be good to met some of you and have a sing song!
And I wholeheartedly agree about how the non-league is great, you get less swearing and abusiveness. Just real fans who go for all the right reasons! Shame some of the Wimborne fans don't take this approach, but it'd be unfair to generalise all of them.
