Lets start with the positives - lovely weather, great crowd, great atmosphere!
This is probably the worst I have seen Poole play this season. There was a lack of vision and passing. Take nothing away from Frome - they defended well, passed well and were lively up front - all the things we normally expect of Poole.
Tommy's substitution of Brown for White to push Lamin up was interesting but I would have preferred to see Browners stay on. To be fair Lamin got the goal and for about 2 minutes at 2-1 down Poole fans thought we were in with a chance of a late equasliser - but it was not to be.
So a very disappointing performance and result.
The challenge is how the Poole players respond - especially as it is Wimborne away on Tuesday.

I won't be too harsh as I've had my money's worth from the last dozen games but the truth is we never really got going and also the ball didn't drop for us today. Take nothing away from Frome they came and did a good 'job' on us and on the day, the best team won. Another positive - it's good to see TK make positive substitutions to try to get the game back. All the best to Frome in the next round. Now to Tuesday and league action

I agree, great day and great crowd, once again i couldnt get a program,we always seem to of sold out before i get there.
I got carried away by the cup run and thought we`d be playing in the 1st round proper at home to Leeds Utd!!But not to be.
Frome were by far the better team in the first 30mins where we lost the game i think,Dibba in my opinion was by far our best player again, but what does it say about us that we have to put him up front!! We gave the ball away and reverted to last seasons long ball tactics, which was dissapointing, and again i thought Taffy lacked again at this level, and what was his position? We couldnt work it out,up front, centre mid, left mid,im not sure.
Dibba though, superb, wins every ball in the air,and when he has the ball he seems to make so much time for himself. Still,it was great while it lasted.
UP THE DOLPINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A bad day at the office. :-( But Frome did their homework on us,( pity their keeper was VERY familiar with the linesman) and the best team won. Bring on Tuesday night. COYD

Umm......... I think some of the comments are a bit harse, Taffy had a decent game I thought. He was winning most of the balls lofted into the space in front of their back four, trying to release Charlie and Browner into their box. Some days things just don't fall for you and yesterday was one of those, for our boys. They clearly packed midfield to stop us playing our fast game, so the long punt was one of the only alternatives. As we thought they were a well organised side, I think they would have been happy with a draw. They got an early break through a refeering error, Tommy was clearly upset that the linesmans decision was overuled(offside). That left us chasing the game for over an hour, not easy when the opposition are just closing everything down. 3-1 was very flattering in my opinion, obviously as a result of Tommy throwing everything at them in the last few minutes. Which of course was the right thing to do The players should be proud of what they achieved, so should the supporters. We have a great team both on and off the pitch and I'm very proud to be part of the regular supporters. Anything that happened yesterday doesn't change anything for me

Hi all,
I think most of your points are correct, 3-1 does flatter us a little because you had a great deal of possession, bu youre right, i believe our management had done its homework, and used tactics which helped win the game for us, which ultimately is what its all about. Also we had the added benefit of probably one of the best strikers in the country at this level of the pyramid which makes the difference. Mark Salter has scored well over 200 goals for us. The rest of our players did a fine job too against an obviously exceptional team.
I just want to say how welcome we were made as supporters. You have a well run club, if a little small (glad it wasnt raining) anfd the ladies behind the bar did a great job seving quickly. I hope all goes well for your relocation as a club as friendly as well supported as yours should have far better facilities. Its a shame some of your locals keep complaining and not suppoting your fine efforts. Good luck and I eally do hope you win your title, Fromefan..

Obviously a big anti-climax , but had to come some time . As has already been said , Frome were a well-organised , hard-working side who knew enough about us to nullify our usual threats . That said , it was a disappointing , strangely subdued performance by Poole , who never displayed the confidence that should be in evidence after such an incredible start to the season. From the games I have seen this year , we have frightened teams when Billy is playing wide on the left , and Gilly is snapping at heels on the right , and pulling defences around a bit , and this didn't happen either in the 1st half at Lymington last week , or in yesterday's tie, and this has been our worst football of the season. But , let's not start dwelling on the negatives , I can do that when I've got my Spurs shirt on , so lets all get down to Cuthbury on Tuesday and show Wimborne what good football is. I have to agree with Wellsworld on one point ( not easy to do , as he's my brother ) in that we probably won't "out-shout" the Wimborne fans, after all , "Empty vessels make the most noise " and all that , but going to that Theatre Of Gloom will just re-iterate why I choose to follow Poole Town. Despite living in Wimborne for 20 years , I feel absolutely no affiliation for it's Football Club , which has always seemed a soul-less , unwelcoming place , and I think the kind comments from both the Merthyr and Frome supporters who enjoyed their visits to Tatnam prove that this is far from the case at Poole. COYD.

The comments above have cheered me up no end, thanks everyone. Good luck to Frome and I won't have to host anyone in the FA Cup First Round against Morecambe after all. Another good thing on Saturday was Moneyfields losing at home. I have no doubt the lads will bounce back tomorrow against Wimborne. UP THE DOLPHINS!

Cheers for that Frome. I liked that Simeon Allison when you brought him, thank god he wasn't on from the start ! Team Bath at home in the next round...that will a tough one, but all the best from Poole, we'll be following your progress.
