Hmm, Andover NS unable to "raise a team" last Saturday, and England playing in a World Cup qualifying match the same day ... Glad I was working and therefore did not even consider making the 250 miles round trip fom home, cos I've had that experience before (turn up and find the match postponed for no apparent reason). What about next Wednesday? Do you you think the players will be able to drag themselves out of their armchairs/the pub? After all, the England match starts at 5.30, and Poole Town's kick-off isn't until 7.45. Please advise, because I am thinking of travelling to this one.

Mike
Our game at Blackfield & Langley is on Tuesday night, so please don't travel on Wednesday!

According to the online version of the andover advertiser, new street went into their fixture last saturday with a patched up squad and a caretaker manager. Given their results so far this season, I had been wondering what was going on there. And yet they managed to play a reserve game on saturday with no problem....

I know New Street lost a lot of players to the other "Andover" over the close season, hence their poor start to the season. A recent change of manager won't have helped.
Best for me not to comment further on the specific circumstances of the postponement. That's for the Wessex league to review.

One last fact (particularly for Mike).
I did make a 200 mile round-trip from Dorking to (not) see Saturday's game!
