The FA Cup is providing a good distraction and a much needed source of money. But promotion must take priority Our future progress is surely built around moving up the pyramid. [glow=red,2,300]DOLPHINS [/glow]

Under 'League Title' - posted on Sept 11th - I pointed out that after 7 wins the Dolphins only needed to do that again 5 times to win the league. I was kind of joking but you're right slepe, promotion is the top priority. I sincerely hope that you're right as well stfc and that the Branksome scheme will be delivered in time should we finish top OR the present ground can still be brought up to Step 4 standard in time, as we were assured last season it could be. DOLPHINS indeed!!!

League for me, but the Cup or Vase is an excellent way of bringing in much needed extra revenue for players, if we need to strengthen, and funds for other things. A run in the FA Cup could bring us more support and add weight to our case for Branksome. Or help upgrade Tatnam if needed.
IF we win the next round that's nearly 10k in prize money already.

How many more rounds will we need to buy Ronaldo?

Slepe - been thinking about your challange: Cup or League.
I am going to be controversial & disagree on 2 fronts. First - would you rather say (being optimistic) to your grandkids: "I remember the season Poole won the Weesex Premier League" or "I remember going to Wembley and seeing Poole win the FA Vase (or being very optimistic) /The FA Cup!. I would go with the latter.
Secondly - like every other supporter I love seeing Poole win & want them to succeed. However, how will the nature of the club change if over a number of seasons we did get copnstant promotion (assuming we got the ground sorted). I think the majority of Poole supporters support for what I have come to love about this club - it has a very friendly atmosphere where you get to know people and the atmosphere at the games is great because you are so close to the pitch.
I have watched the odd game at Bournemouth and believe the atmospehere is bettter at Tatnam. I believe that too much success could undermine this (and higher league means more commercialism).
So the challenge is how do we keep great players, keep winning but keep the current buzz. Being super optimistic - we win all our league games but fail to get a new ground so don't get promoted. However we win the FA Cup & use the £2 million to bonus all our players so they remain loyal to the club! What a plan!
By now I am sure you think I have lost the plot!
So to answer your question - I really favour a good cup run (which is something Taffy stated when asked this question in The Echo a few months back).

Going to Wembley before I die would be great peter. I think you actually have a point but I'd still trade it for two or three promotions. Both would be nice.

As much as i like a good cup run, it has to be the league for me. Mainly for selfish reasons, cos all the years i have followed the Town, i've only seen us win the league once !

Peter see your point and I agree, if a good cup run turned into something extra special then that would change the circumstances somewhat. My expectation is that we will reach the 3rd qualifying round in the FA cup and probably do well in the Vase. Can anyone seriously tell me that Wembley is beckoning, being boringly realistic that's what makes me plump for promotion. What a dream ;D
