I think they are from the same league as Willand and Welton ?
The draw is definitely in our favour but I'm not going to get carried away just yet as I would just love to see us go further and grab more of the lime light.
[glow=red,2,300]Come on Poole Town you can do it![/glow]

Hey Rob, Marlane mentioned that the tea hut worked well on Saturday, but that the players complained. they are getting spoilt bless em. Also that alot of the supports hung around thinking the food was for them as well. Which was not a problem, Marlane justed explained that when all the players had eaten, what was left they could have, would it be a good idea tohave the tea bar open for supporters (especially those who have to travel) so they can have hot food after the game as well?

Although we take nothing for granted, on current form and at home you would expect us to progress through to the next round.

I saw Poole play Bideford in the FA Vase a couple of years ago when we lost 1-2 at home. Things were different then because Bideford were top of the Western Prem and we weren't top of our league. Winnable it is provided no complacency creeps in, which is, to judge from the programme notes m3 copied in for us recently, unlikely.

Frome have also beaten us at home in the Vase, 3-1 in 2006/7, so a tough game seems likely, whoever wins the replay tomorrow.

I agree with the concensus, very winnable regardless who turns up. Frankly, it will take a much better team than those two to turn over the Dolphins at Tatnam. I would have liked to have seen better oppositon, just to measure the teams level. From a purely monetary position this draw is perfect, another good day for the supporters also. That can't be bad. I really enjoyed myself on Saturday, the only disappointment was the size of the gate.
Does anyone know whether Hamworthy are at home in the next round?

Cookiemonster, yes it did work well on Sat with the Tbar, and maybe something worth pursuing with all concerned parties, as it releases up more room at the bar, The directors will I am sure discuss at our next board Mtg. The idea of keeping open the Tbar longer is not quite so simple, we are very lucky to have Dicks wife who runs the Tbar voluntary, and has done so for many years till about 15Min's into the 2nd half as is normal at most grounds, and I am sure she has other things to do on Sat, or was it you suggesting to do food from the Tbar after she has gone? either way we can discuss your ideas when we next meet and I will take to our Board Mtg for further discussion and a decision.
I and ALL my fellow directors really do feel proud of all the volunteers, supporters club etc etc we have at this great club, lets all work together to pull all these ideas that recently seem to be popping up for the good and benefit of all but more importantly for POOLE TOWN FC. But lets not forget the group of merry helpers at the club is small, anyone out there willing to help out on match days in any capacity no matter how small a way will have their hand snapped off. Thanks

It's Frome Town in the next round - they won 3-1 after extra time at Bideford, getting their equaliser very near the end of normal time. Two extra-time penalties from that man Mark Salter - I think he got a couple against us in the Vase tie two years ago.

There has been a discussion on another thread about inadvertently firing up the opposition, so you might be interested in the following post on the Frome Town forum:
It was a great game, really exciting and I hope/expect that we will turn them over again on Saturday - Frome were much fitter and once the equaliser finally went in I think we expected to win it. Looking forward to Poole as well the thingyy gits - from their forum

On the face of it Frome will probably fancy their chances as much as us. They've played 5 league games and just as many cup games as us, + the replay, and are yet to lose. Out of the teams we've played so far from their league they look like they could be the better team. And their last nights cup win, with late goals, could have been won on the back of a good fitness level. I doubt if TK or SC will underestimate Frome. It's going to get interesting.

Another quote on Frome's board
"Yeah Gary, I hope our players are aware that the Poole supporters think they've already won."
Clearly they've been a bit selective in reading this thread, but it does show how easily one post can be used to paint a distorted picture.

Doug, I don't write my posts for the benefit of Frome or anyone else. My posts are for the Dolphins supporters, if others wish to read them then that's their problem. If they are that desperate for motivation, then good luck too them
