As mentioned before, I have really noticed the crowd getting behind the team this year. At the end of League matches you always see the players going over to clap their supporters.
Do people think our players should do this? Not that I want to get carried away for being a supporter but I thought it would be a nice touch at the end of the match.
I noticed when our players got subbed off what great applause they got. I also noticed that Gilly did acknowledge the cheers he received.

I think it's good to see the players show appreciation of the support they receive, and it's vital they receive the encouragement they get from the crowd. Any player that has a dig at goal, even if the ball ends up on the roof of a nearby house deserves credit for having a go - it gives them the necessary reassurance not to be afraid to have a shot and gives a good player/supporter relationship. Long may it continue.

Personally, I'm not sure I would want any sense of obligation around the players applauding the supporters at the end of games. If it happens every game, does it risk becoming an empty gesture, rather than a heartfelt one?

Totally agree, it shouldn't become a false obligation. It's also worth remembering that some players and managers become extremely focused and psyched up during games, and have their minds elsewhere.

As a new supporter one of the first things I noticed is the "in it together" atmosphere there is in and around the club. There is definitely an air of get behind the team not slate them, which can only be good,eg, Saturday. The players shouldn't feel obliged to applaud the fans, especially if they've had a bad day at the office or had "advice" from the sidelines.

Unfortunately as I am an avid AFCB fan I don't get many Poole games.
Is there any songs going on that add to the atmosphere?
I am hoping to make a few over the next months, I will definitely join in with the songs and with the atmosphere to cheer the boys on!
Onwards and upwards!

I think mutual appreciation is quite healthy.
So, yes players can demonstrate their appreciation for our undying admiration, if they so desire ;D
