;DJust like to say congrats to all our medal winners and competitors. Especially to Chris Hoy who notched a hat-trick. Their dedication and hard work is an inspiration to us all
This is one occasion where I am proud to be British, and I don't get the chance to say that very often(are you listening rip off politicians)

Well said stfcinbmth, they've done very well as they warm up for 2012 and this should remind us of what there is to come. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [soapbox]The success with the bike team only goes to show what investment can do for sport. The sooner the powers to be in football can recognise this and allow more revenue to be distributed amongst the smaller clubs and non league levels, who help propagate local youngsters, the better it will be for our game. It may even benefit the international scene. [/soapboxoff]

Good point but it's "The League of Greed" that's killing the national game m3.

Good point but it's "The League of Greed" that's killing the national game m3. Nothing we can do about that Brian, until such time as supporters realise there is more to life than paying £40-50 a time to watch a game The supporters are revolting, slowly but surely. I can no longer afford to go and watch my Magic Roundabout based Swindon, who my granddad first took me to watch when I was seven. I was even taking young Ayres to watch them when he was seven (another two weeks and he can start training again for anyone who's interested) We only need to look at the supporters of FCUM to see that, they will be in the Football League before much longer. Also the owners of Ebbsfleet United, who are the football loving public, I am sure they will enter the league in the not too distant future. Grass roots is coming back Interesting time ahead for sure

Agreed stfc (Swindon Town FC?), it's the supporters who will decide what happens in the end. There aren't enough egocentric billionaires to keep all the top clubs afloat and, as you quite rightly point out, the signs are there already of change. Maybe in my lifetime.......
