If we have as many good players both old and new as it seems from what I read on the PTFC News and Views, we really ought to have a reserve side again now shouldn't we? Or too many good players will get fed up being on the bench or left out, won't they? I realise it's expensive but all the other leading Wessex teams seem to have reserves. What do people think about this?

Great idea,i have often wondered why we dont have one.
Also, when the first team away we can watch the reserves at home!!

The reserve team was shelved because of lack of volunteers for the gate, bar etc
Most of our fans go to the away games and i'd rather go and watch poppies, wimborne or hamworthy in the wessex league than a poole reserve team
It would be better if we had a squad of around twenty players and maybe used holt for example to send a few players on loan if thats possible

The U18's are playing quite a few matches anyway, they should be OK. Fringe players will be the problem, Tommy showed yesterday that he is prepared to sub and get the squad involved. It suprised me that Taffy lasted the full 90 minutes, just hope he will be subbed when it's necessary.

Fringe players are exactly the problem slepe but you're right about the u/18s except that you can't play out-of-favour/form over 18s. I like the idea of getting a Dorset Prem side like Holt as a place to loan players not getting a regular game as long as Holt don't feel patronised. Good idea stevem.
