Its not common knowledge to all and sundry yet but Mandy & I were sad to learn today that our good friend Steve Park will at the end of this season be giving up his announcing duties. No more will we hear the unmistakable dulcet tones of dear Steve announcing the teams and playing his amazing catalogue of music to us all! This is sounding profoundly negative I agree but there is a positive in that Steve has promised to cross the barrier and join us (Peptalk, uptonogood & Mandy47) in the extension of 'Parkys Parlour'
Now for me Steve & also his dear Father Burt evoke happy memories of watching Poole Town in the stadium when I was a nipper, for it was Burt I remember fondly selling me Poole Town FC badges, rosettes and various memorabilia from the club shop! Long may these memories remain and Steve - thanks for all you have done for the club over the 25 years (35 Years+ as Supporter) or so you have been volunteering for the club...
Great Job Mate

Steve - a true legend! Having tried the announcements once (and failed miserably1) I know it is not as easy as Steve makes it seem.
It certainly won't seem the same without Steve's voice - Poole Town's Motty!

I have to say that in my mind, announcer Parky has been a very important part of the Black Gold experience. Whilst I haven't travelled to away games quite as much in the last few seasons I can honestly say that few clubs have someone who is so clear on the PA. Parky has approached his job with great enthusiasm and performed it brilliantly. How he can suddenly recover from rolling about in the seat after one of the numerous 'quips'/double entendres that are a feature of 'Parkys Parlour's residents', to switching on the mic and announcing the latest substitution is something that has never ceased to impress me. He is going to be a tough act to follow for sure - good luck to the BoD in finding someone that can fill his boots.

I have tried to keep the PA working for some years to help you all get your "Parky Fix" and like Peter, have tried and failed miserably to stand in for the main man. Steve you will be a hard act to follow.

I think it’s clear Parky, the masses see you as the “main man” in match day announcements a bit like “ Jeff Stelling” and irreplaceable?? Surely can we not beg you to do one more season and train up a suitable replacement throughout the season, even let some sensible younger individuals try out co-presenting alongside you till they feel confident to go solo? Please reconsider Parky!!

But,saying that, thank you again for the kind words.

Don't forget this Saturday (15th April 2023) will be Mr Park Jr's last home 'league' game on the PA - hopefully of course we may get to hear him during the playoffs....

To hear Steve after the 15th would require the following, firstly that Poole finish at least 4th. Goth place will always be away in the playoffs. Then the gem funishing second must lose in the semis to the team finishing 5th. So girt objective is to finish higher than 5th.
