After a three week break, yesterday’s win was much needed following heavy criticism, but the players stood up to the challenge and showed us what they are capable of with an emphatic home win.
The key differences are fairly obvious; the team bonding exercise will undoubtedly have brought the group together during a turbulent time. In addition to this, Toby Holmes finally has a striker partner and as expected, looked a different player alongside the returning Tony Lee. We’ve also been crying out for a new centre back to either play alongside Whisk and Spetch, or compete for a place with them. Jake Andrews also showed today what a difference he can make from dead ball situations. All of this applied into a suitable formation that is fluid in transition, alongside clinical finishing and less mistakes defensively ultimately resulted in a superb display and result.
It’s also worth noting that the Tony Lee situation has been an enormous dark cloud hanging over the club, so seeing him return and the rumours finally starting to die down has been a great weight off our shoulders.
Hopefully this is the start of a triumphant rise in form, as in my opinion, the 11 players we had out on the pitch yesterday are more than capable of beating any team in the league.
Let’s stick together as a fan base, stay positive and hope for the best. All we can do is support the team and get the message across that we believe in them and TK. Leave the new ground to the BOD who are doing their utmost to help us realise our potential as a club.
Up the dolf 🐬

Yes, a much-improved performance all round. Thought the new signing was a steadying influence on the team but we mustn't get carried away there will be much sterner tests ahead than Yate Town.

Agreed, Gosport on Wednesday will be a big indicator as to whether we can achieve promotion.

When we got Saturday’s result against Yate, I couldn’t believe it. But you’re right George, Wednesday’s result will tell us more! COME ON YOU DOLPHINS!

Another huge result. Despite Tony missing a pen, we still won by 2 goals and another clean sheet.
We’ve got a nice break now with fa trophy next Saturday and Tuesdays game being postponed. Means Bracknell at home on 11th is next league game.

Missing Jake Andrews and Ade Olumuwiya today clearly made a big difference but sounds like Winchester were in favour of a scrappy game. Hopefully we can play our way on Tuesday and get another vital 3 points 🐬

As ballboy said, "consistency is the key to a promotion." expat has frequently said the same but consistency is not one of our strengths. Oh well, now we can concentrate on the Dorset Senior Cup.

Just goes to show with two of the best players absent the difference it can make. Clearly depth in the squad and a touch of quality is lacking

Poole Town FC and Cup competitions !. The sad fact is we don’t. Do Cup matches, as a twitterer pointed it is more revenue that the club has missed out on!! why is that happening season after season?? As we all know “it’s never been easy”

In all honesty, I’m happy that we can focus on the league but we should have a squad capable of taking on a cup run as well as achieving our ambitions in the league.

Very easy to be negative when we drop two points in the manner we did last night, but a draw was probably a fair result given the number of chances they had.
We’re in the play offs and we’ve got a big game against HW on Saturday 🐬 let’s back the lads and TK
